Oh, and the fact that the album is on 2 albums means we should expect a pretty long album. Very nice.

 

Usually all I would need is the album, but I think I'm gonna get the CD/DVD package this time around. I am fascinated with the way artists create music, and seeing the behind the scenes footage of my favorite band making what looks to be their best record is too good of a deal to pass up.

 

I had to buy the whole thing - but from the US store. I cannot risk not geting the Australian version. I will probably buy that too. And being a part of the LPU I get presale tickets anway.

Why does the reciept say pending? Does that mean it will be fine but just waiting for funds to clear?

 

^ I would assume because the album hasn't come out yet? I think it's the order status of the album. It'll change after the album comes out.

I, like some others here, never buy anything more than a digital copy of an album off iTunes. However, I had to get the CD/DVD combo here. Linkin Park has and likely always will be my favorite band. I've been with them since Hybrid Theory, and now that I'm older and have gone through this album promotion process every step of the way, I'm able to recognize the sheer effort they're putting into this album. I have very high hopes for A Thousand Suns, and I have no doubt that LP is going to deliver once again. Mike posted that this DVD is going to be the best LP documentary yet, I can't wait to watch it and see first hand just how much time they spent putting this together. I'm loving all of this so far. The fan interaction with the "LP Featuring You", the inclusion of social networking sites (Facebook and Twitter promotions), and the whole theme of the album in general. I love Linkin Park, and this is going to be the best album release yet. I'm not going to go look for early releases on YouTube. I'm going to wait at home on the 14th, get my album in the mail that day, and listen to what I believe is going to be the best Linkin Park album yet.

 

you get it only on the 10th??? so its not worth for me, coz in germany the cd+DVD will be abvailble in stores on the 10th. I dont need to pay 48$ for it

oh yes, I remember the day when they changed their release dates to friday. like they changed the movies on tuesday...in 2005? anyway so great! But unfortunately LP is touring just the week after my 2 weeks fall holidays AND during MY FINAL EXAMS...my very very last exams (and most important onces)...(ups offtopique)

haha I KNEW they would invert the cover for the special edition! It was so primed and perfect for it, just like what Shinedown did on their deluxe version of "the sound of madness". It looks so much more impossing reversed, & I'm really growning to like it.

But wow, that superspecial edition package is badass. The art looks fantastic, & having the album on TWO viynal records - ITS GONNA BE ONE EPIC ALBUM!

From the sound of things, it seems like their gonna send the digital copies of the single and the album a day or two early.

 

For sure. I would bet a lot of money we will hear the Catalyst in it's entirety before Aug 2. Even before the X games!

 

Does anyone know how much the shipping/tax etc is for UK orders?

 

I found the shipping charges a little too high on the LP site. With shipping included my order on LP's site came out to $33.93. Seeing as I couldn't justify that on my limited budget, I ordered the special edition on Amazon for $16.99, free shipping through a promotion of trying out the Amazon Prime program(free 2 day shipping for a month and Guaranteed to get Album delivered on the release date), and they gave me a $1 credit for a free mp3 download which I will use for The Catalyst single when it is released on Aug. 2. So all in all, I paid roughly half the price and got the same thing minus the digital copy of the Album and pre-sale tickets. I can live with that. I am happy with my purchase.
