You can read a brief review of A Thousand Suns over at fasterlouder.com which they had the chance to listen to in Australia a couple days back, this will contain minor spoilers so stop reading now if you don't want to know anything about the record.

With an open bar and a warm welcome, I thought Christmas at the listening session for Linkin Park’s soon to be released A Thousand Suns.

Not released till September 10, it will be hard to keep my cool till that date. I long to hear this album over and over again, as it left a hell of an impression and by the end of the session there were no inhibitions about head banging and foot tapping.

There are 15 tracks on the album, commencing with The Requiem and The Radiance, the first of several interlude tracks which feature throughout the album. Third track Burning the Skies is one of those that will feature heavily on the radio, whose dynamic edge, beautiful lyrics and crisp sound caught my attention and became a favourite. This feel spilled into the fourth track Empty Spaces, illustrating how the album is sequenced – no pauses between songs with a concept album feel.

There was a defined mix of influences where rap meets metal, blends with African beats and soars into the classical skies. A prime example of this is found on Blackout, that begins with a brutal rap thud as one imagines themselves cruising on the highway, something leaps out of nowhere and a crash evolves, changing the direction of the music and the visions implored.

Other standout songs included Wretches and Kings and Iridescent. Vocalist Chester Bennington’s great vocal range is realised time and time again as he hits the heights with all the different rhythms and tones the songs employ.

I smirked to myself at the end of the evening as I thought of a conversation earlier in the day with a friend, who noted that the Linkin Park’s first few albums were great but he no longer listens to them. This album is bound to change that sentiment and very likely to bring a host of new fans to the marvel of Linkin Park.

Agreed. This site wrote 20 lines about the record and maybe 1 line has something about the way it sounds!

I think is really weird that we didn´t have a review of the album yet!

Edit: Ok... I see that I may have exagerated LoL But i didn´t like the review

Yeah, expect actual reviews to emerge around the week of release. However, there will be more insight from listening parties the press have attended over the next week or so.

Agreed. I'm actually trying to avoid reviews & impressions, haha, but I had to skim it for the sake of posting it. It sounds really exciting from what I did read.

The fact that the guy only heard the album once and is impatiently awaiting the day he can listen to it again is a good sign.

If you look closely on The Catalyst CD scans there is a company I believe called something similar to "Chazzy Chaz"

BTW guys i found another small review is very similar to this and the guy (s) who wrote it sounds very very positive about the album too.
Its curious to see that burning in the skies is so far the favorite song of each reviewer ( i hope i wrote it right). Ana gavei it a 50/10, this guys also says it is one of their favorites and in the fasterlouder.com review also mentioned that this is a great song. And blackout neverteless ana's review it appears everyone else is positive aboute the song. the link to the other review www.linkinpark.com/profiles/blogs/my-preview-a-thousand-suns-or?xg_source=activity is on the official Lp page so i think isnt wrong to post it here.

Read it a while ago. Same thing with this one, it needs more descriptions.

Burning In The Skies might be my fav LP track ever. It's ridiculously cool. Love that he called it out.
