Ok, this has become a issue for me... You see I use to be well 'goth' and then somehow I was turned into what well I think is a 'prep' and it was awesome I'll admit. I loved having more people likeing me and ####, but I don't think this is me... My friends want me to dress nice and thats cool, there just looking out for me and what they think is best, but this is not me, I know it's not... I want to go back how I use to be and still have fun like I am now and if people can't except that well... #### THEM! What do you guys think?
Just because you're hanging with a different crowd doesn't mean you have to be seen as one. I personally don't like to look "preppy" but if people judge you by your clothes over your personality they're dumb as $%!7. Be yourself, don't let third person influences effect you.
Be what you want to be. Don't be something just so people can accept you. That's just living a lie. I dress the way I want. And if a friend wants to stop being friends with me because of the way I'm dressing, than they're not worth being friends with. SCREW THE UNIFORM NAZIS ! Sorry. Had to let that out.
Be who you truly are and f*ck everyone else. Nah, seriously be yourself and if your friends don't like who you are then are they really your friends then?
You're just insecure that if you dress preppy you'll lose your influence on your friends, don't be. If they're truly your friends they wouldn't care. ...Now if you leave them and go for another crowd...that's a different story.
Dress the way you want to dress. Act the way you want to act. Be Yourself, have fun, enjoy life! Acting like someone else is stupid.
Dress how you want to dress. F**k everyone else. I put up with a lot of #### because of the way I dress and the music I listen to. I have thought about wearing 'nice' clothes again but it just isn't me. Just be yourself... forget what everyone else wants.
Don't fall to the term "poser" either. If they think you're a poser for being what you are, then so be it, don't let it effect you.
I agree with all of you: stay true to yourself, if people can't accept you for who you are, then they can go to hell. The way I dress, my many piercings and tattoos haven't stopped me from having many friends...I know they are true friends because they accept me the way I am...there are people who judge me, but that just shows their true character...so I'm not the one who looks bad, it's those who judge me before they get to know me. I'm who I am, and if someone has a problem with that, they can kiss my a$$.
Dress the way you want, do what you want. If they were real friends, they wouldn't give a damn what you wore.
Your real friends won't judge you on appearances. Don't let your friends hold you back from how you really want to live your life.
I usually dress more like a "rocker" kid, like my friends; but I will occasionally wear something "preppy." My friends don't really care because they know that I'm not a prep. It's just that, sometimes, I like to look nice for some reason. I don't do it to impress anyone, I just do it. I dress how I want to.
Same. Dress how you want to dress...don't go for a style or type of clothing if you don't want to. If your friends want to stop being friends with you over something as simple as what you wear...then they aren't true friends after all.
I wear hoodies and jeans while all my friends wear sweaters and vests and jeans, so it's about being different. one of my best friends wears a trench coat/raglin one day, then a sports jacket the next, then a tracksuit the day after. It's all about variety and wearing what you want to wear.
I mainly wear shirts with longsleeves under them over a Nike jacket. Not much variety in my wardrobe, but I'm comfortable with it. Hell, my parents don't do laundry every week so often I need to pick dirty clothes up and wear them to school. EDIT: Jeans year round, too.
I wear jeans and whatever T-shirts I have, usually Nike or Reebok, whatever the cheapest shirt I can find at the mall. And in the winter, I have a Nike hoodie that I always wear since the school is so damn cold
I wear t-shirts and bondage pants usually...as well as my combat boots. And all kinds of jewelry (chains, spikes, etc.)
I wear a different short sleeve T-shirt everyday and the same pants for a week er 2. Sometimes they are zip-offs, sometimes jeans. If its cold, I'll wear my LP hoodie, but i usually take it off when i get to school in the morning. Sometimes I have to use dirty sox to wear to school.
