Well this place has been pretty dead for a while, so here's a new one from me. As doubt sinks in Storm filled clouds, float in a pale blue sky And the people ran for cover, under an open dry shade On the terminal screens, a forecast was displayed The red lights blinked with alarm, a warning Marquees tell of an incoming storm, a tornado And the people ran, some on their knees Some praying, as the children wept Wanting god to save them, from the inevitable A black cloud came, and threw down rain As a funnel made it's way through the town Glass went up in the air, and crashed back down Hitting the poor people who were in the way Blood splashed windows, wifes became widows Children orphans, still the masses prayed While outside in the danger, as if the basements weren't dry Waiting for a hand of god to put the nonsense to rest The people ran, and ran, but never sought shelter And those outside while on their knees Pay the ultimate price, up in the air they fly away For their god they give their life Because when they came back down, they had died Storm filled clouds, float in a pale blue sky And the people blink, while wondering how could this happen "God what have we done", they whisper with sounds of regret Thinking that, they've payed there debt A disbelieving man, stands at the side of a street corner Eyes wide, and not a single scratch or mark on him. He looks around at the destruction, knows it must stand for something A old certainty dies as a new a new hope is born And around him on the terminal screens, a forecast was displayed The red lights blinked with alarm, a warning Marquees tell of an vanishing storm. And then the blackness clears, and that girl opens her eyes And throws away her fears, realizing that it's safe now But what if weren't? That idea, is branded into her mind Finally sureness fades as doubt sinks in.
