Well, it was announced by LPLive but we all remember the fake tracklist, so I don't know if it is 100% legit.
It's a lot less balanced than the Kerrang! Review. Screenshots are on Twitter if anyone's interested. I believe the good sirs running LPA's twitter retweeted me so will be easy to find
"Let's see how many over-the-top adjectives we can cram into an album review without actually saying anything about what it sounds like!" - ArtistDirect. Seriously, the only thing of actual substance said in this entire review is that War has a Brad solo in it.
Only real thing I really got from the review was that Rebellion has a middle eastern vibe. The rest really seemed to be fluff about how stoked he was about the album and things we already know. (Brads been a guitar god since day one!) Like Rob drumming like he's never drummed before. Reviewing music can be a hard I suppose but Derek and Turtleguy did a much better job of getting the feeling of the songs through to us with words.
Obviously it's me just playing around. I will say this though, Linkin Park is my favourite band and while you certainly do get more technically better guitarists and rappers and drummers, nobody does what Linkin Park does and they are for me far more interesting than any other band present or past. Brads apart of that creative process so I will respect his guitar skills as awesome because you don't get to where they are by being average.
It wouldn't be a proper Linkin Park album release cycle without Rick Florino's ridiculous reviews. It has almost become a tradition.
Ahaha, an album cycle wouldn't be complete without Florino over-the-top reviews But though, you gotta know Kerrang also praised the record, giving it 4/5. This is the highest they have ever rated a Linkin Park abum, along with A Thousand Suns.
In sober words: Chester is screaming, Brad is playing guitar, Rob is playing drums, Dave is playing bass, Joe is using the turntables (or whatever), Mike is rapping /singing. Yo, "Peep the style and the kids checking for it"
Uhhh...what type of a review is this? I don't know how to interpret this is basically every LP song. The reviewer could have used this for every song on the track and still explain everything while explaining nothing: However, "A Line in the Sand" is their most epic cut to date teetering between subtle balladry and volatile vocal explosions to a backdrop of instrumental intricacy.
Artist Direct is actually like paid advertising. Every album they review is a classic. The name itself is almost a dead giveaway, "Artist Direct".
I was really excited for the review. Then I read it. Sticking to Derek and Turtle's review to keep my hype up.
