http://www.cnn.com/2012/05/10/tech/gaming-gadgets/apple-ipod-lawsuit/index.html If your an apple ipod owner you could be suing apple. The lawsuit is based on the idea that by not allowing music to be downloaded from music stores, apple has broken several federal and state laws. So if have ever owned an ipod you could take part in the lawsuit. Or you can have them take out of it, in which case you will not receive Ny "recovery." Anybody going to actively take part?
Hm. I might have to look into this. I've got a fourth-generation iPod nano that's included in the lawsuit. I'm definitely interested in this, even though I've never had a problem putting music on my iPod.
Hey my 5G iPod is on the list. I actually do remembering hearing about Rhapsody when it first was a thing (I was looking for iTunes alternatives), and I thought what Apple did was kinda a dick move. Apple does a lot of dick things.
Class action lawsuits are a joke. The settlement is divided up between millions of people. You might get 10 bucks out of it if you're lucky, and that's after filling out pages of paperwork and mailing it in. I've been offered settlements in CALs before and never even bothered because the effort wasn't worth it. The only people who get anything out of CALs are the lawyers.
Exactly. Like when the antenna didn't work on the iPhone 4 you got $15 or a rubber bumper. The lawyers made tons of cash though. I've never had an issue with any of my Apple products. There's always a way to get something done if you're willing to step out of the iTunes box.
