I was wondering if anyone here could help me out...I just got a 60GB iPod video for Christmas and I finally decided to update to iTunes 6 but it no longer works. It worked fine with 5 but now whenever I open iTunes, the window flashes and then the program closes.

    Anyone have a clue?

Try uninstalling, restart your computer, then install the latest iTunes version again. That might work. Otherwise I'm not sure what causes this to happen.

something like that happened to me, i tried to install a better version, and it finishes, but when i open it, all that comes up is that stupid error report thingy, and it never opens, i reinstalled it, repaired it, installed quicktime again, everything. actually, this is happening with windows media player as well now, it just keeps coming up error report, damn crap computer.

so if its anything like mine, i dont know if you can fix it. sorry.

I tried uninstalling both iTunes and Quicktime and then restarting and reinstalling and all of that but it still does it.

The problem is, I dont even get an error message. I see the screen telling me to accept or decline to the terms of service for half a second and then its gone and the program is no longer open.

EDIT: Alright wow, I fixed it without any help. I went into the properties of iTunes and changed security stuff within the program even though there wasn't much to change considering it said everyone was allowed to use it but then it magically worked.

my windows media player 10 does the same thing. it says something about how it encountered an internal program error and cannot continue, and is unable to determine the nature of it or some shit.

ridiculous. these days i don't even know if i will be able to listen to my music when i turn my computer on..so i just leave it on. not exactly the healthiest thing to do when your computer is a notebook. oh well.

WMP10 is made by Microsoft ... IE is made by Microsoft.
Do you see any connections yet? :p
