If you havent listened to the new Animal Collective album "Merriweather Post Pavillion" yet, go do it right now. Less then a week into the year, and we already have a near masterpiece of an album. It's insane. My Girls is one of the best pop songs that i've heard in ages, and Brothersport and In The Flowers are amazing as well. Go listen to it. Now.

It's certainly an album that grows on you, so yeah I would try it again. Seriously, no ones excited about this album? Its so great .
ive played it through a few times and actually really like it. Its great background music and ive been playing it while doing hw. It reminds me of sigur ros to an extent which i also play as background music. I cant really mention any particular songs i love because i havent listened to it deeply yet and when its playing i dont really know which song is on lol, but i really do like the sound.
It's good. But like many bands that play such experimental music like this, it lacks heart for the most part. I'm sure it'd be better if one tried it under the influence of drugs, although being 14 that's not much of an option.
I've listened to this a few times now and just do not get the hype at all. It's a decent album at best if you ask me. Experimental, yes. But I can't see myself going out of my way to listen to it as anything other than background noise.
