What are your opinions of Tampa Bay winning the Stanley Cup(2-1). I don't care too much but i wishy that Caligury had won, just because I guess my dad were routing for them. I didn't know if this should have been in Kick Back Cafe or Random Chat or this, I hope I have it in the right one.
I don't like Tampa Bay. Why might you ask? Because they beat the Flyers (my favorite team) and they went on to advance to the finals. err...Flyers should've went on to win the Stanley Cup this year. :chemist:
Hockey, you mean. But I'm neutral since I don't like either teams. Not gonna say which team I liked got eliminated though. :chemist:
* swears * AAAAARGH! I'm a huge Flames fan...GRRR...they'll take 'er next year. Now I wanna kill...all you Flames fans can go ahead and punch a Lightning fan. Consider it a freebie... * swears again * Did I mention how much this sucks? * swears again *
Um.. same.. thing...?
i dont follow hockey :chemist: exept for the wild. the rule :rawk:
calgary is my hometown so obviously i was rooting for them. i dont even like hockey. i didnt watch it either, but the flames are the only thing i know about hockey period.. except the mighty ducks movies. so yeah, this sucks.
w00t! I'm glad they won -- I dislike Calgary Plus I had said the whole year they'd be going to the finals (then again, I said it last year, too )... I also said they'd play Detroit, though (my team), so I got 1/2 right!
I'm fan of every team where Czech players are...so it's almost every NHL team...But there are no Czechs in Calgary, so I'm glad Tampa won..Rock on, Pavel Kubina!
I love Calgary, they are my second favourite team (next to the Leafs). I'm very upset that they lost, but I hold no grudges against Tampa because I thought they played excellently, and that they deserved to win. Both teams made this a very memorable serious, in my opinion. So cheers to Calgary, and to Tampa as well.
I was so rotted that Calgary lost last night. It seemed like they were close when they scored with 12 minutes left, closing the gap to 1 goal. The first 48 minutes was terrible hockey. Constant icings, offsides, pucks going over the boards, bad refereeing, it all made the game really slow and boring. But man, when Calgary scored, they went crazy for 10 minutes straight. It was quite possibly the most fun 10 minutes of hockey that I've seen in years. Constant chances and shots. Khabibulin (Lightning goalie) absoluetely robbed them at least a half dozen times, especially on that empty net shot by Leopold (Calgary defenseman). Kiprusoff (Calgary goalie)made a great save on that one-hander Lecavalier (Lightning) tried. Anyone else think some of the penalty calls on Calgary were fishy? I mean, one of the lightning defensmen tripped over a block and they called it tripping, while that absolutely-devastating check on St. Louis (Lightning superstar) with a minute left didn't look like it was from behind. Meanwhile, Iginla (Calgary superstar) was tripped and hauled down nearly a dozen of times, with no calls. I'm not trying to make this into a conspiracy, nor am I trying to avenge Calgary's loss, but the NHL really needed a southern-US team to win the cup to boost interest in the southern states. They've already got the fan base in Canada, but it's lacking in the US, especially in the south. Tampa Bay is an incredible team, and they probably deserved last nights win because they did play better, but all in all, I think the refereeing was one-sided.
Mark you must be a huge hockey freak! ...me too :chemist:
Guess what nationality I am! Canada will win the 2004 World Cup Championships. :chemist:
Guess what nationality I am! Canada will win the 2004 World Cup Championships. :chemist:
Canada?? What is that?? The best hockey country is Czech Republic! I've seen Canadians winning in Prague month ago...Yeah I've seen it live! However we should have won the championship... I'm still not over it...err...I take hockey a bit too serious
Does that offer include females? There was only one person in our class who was rooting for tampa....definately NOT me.... Stupid Tampa; it was Calgary's turn to shine, not Tampa's! BOO! REMATCH!

Heh, everyone who was watching the game with me said Kiprusoff made an amazing save on Lecavalier, but I simply didn't see it. He went to the standard spread position that all goalies go to when someone's crashing the net and it's obvious they're not going to go top shelf. I just didn't find it to be an amazing save. I don't think the refs were one-sided at all. Calgary had some questionable calls go their way, too, not just Tampa Bay. I mean, even the announcers said it was payback for all the questionable calls Calgary got. I still think Sutter's an @$$ for trying to gain calls (just like Vancouver always does) by complaining that the refs hate them because they're from Canada, bla, bla, bla... cry me a freakin' river. Stop trying to gain calls by drawing attention to it through a press conference. In the end, though, Tampa Bay wanted it more. Calgary didn't show up for the game until the final 10 minutes or so.
