Oh, I thought it was supposed to come out the 12th. I think I'm with Jeff on this one. I like me some EV, and this has moments, but it isn't too exciting to me even though it's a bit different than their normal offerings.
I think it's pretty good. I like it as much as possible for another rock song with generic guitar. I still wish they'd use more synth.
I think the instrumentation is actually better than The Open Door tbh. It's a good song. Amy sounds great.
I agree, she still sounds great. The song has me curious to hear the rest of the album so I say the single did it's job. Also, off topic, the crazy horse is back!
I really hate the term "generic guitar." lol. Anyways, the song sounds good. Seems like it has a pretty good energy to it. Its different, yet the same for Evanescence. I like it.
The more I listen to this song, the more I get excited that Evanescence is back. They were one HELL of a live act, and the fact they broke up (or seemingly broke up) a few years ago was such a downer. Glad to see them back and more energized than ever.
It sounds slightly better than anything on The Open Door, but then again that's not too hard anyway. I saw them playing it live on MTV and Amy still sounds like she's struggling to grasp some air between verses.
She definitely didn't sound that way when I saw her live. Honestly I think the mixing was terrible in that performance. Didn't do them justice live at all.
The mixing does not have anything to do with it. http://www.mtv.com/videos/news/679245/evanescence-premiere-what-you-want.jhtml#id=1668631 She misses most of the higher notes. I can understand it if you're at the end of a two-hour show, but not if you're only playing one song.
Seconded. Still gives me chills. Btw, I highly suggest to buy the single. The iTunes rip is so much clearer and awesome than the shitty YouTube video going around.
Already done. Also, with all the talk about Open Door, I think I might give it another listen. Seeing that my musical taste has changed a lot in the past year or two.
