AMD Athlon 64bit Dual Core 3800+

    How is the aforementioned piece of hardware? My mom was planning on getting a computer with it. Is it good for gaming and such? Also, if you do not use the Windows XP 64 bit version, do you lose a lot of power?

    I heard there great for Gaming and other stuff, but thats if only you got the right hardware in it as well, a gig of ram( or more) At least Nivdia 6600 gt (or 6800) (ATI Well, im not familer with the newer brands) Good size hard Drive and yea. But it just does more. And you'd might need xp 64 i think, so it runs EAsyer.

    Okay thanks. How would it's preformance compare to that of an Intel Pentium 4 @ 3.0 GHz?
