I agree. It's the best melodic song on the album imo. It's really stripped down and has an intimate feel to it. Different from every other track on the album.

I'm on my second listen now. The album is better once you start to let it sink in.

I admire their braveness on this album. I didn't like some things they tried, like the gang vocals on "Iridescent", but I appreciate everything for being adventurous. BTW, I really feel bad for being the negative one, while so many people like the album. I don't want to ruin the magic of the songs for some people, because of my opinion.

IMO, "The Catalyst" is kind of misleading when you have songs like "Burning in the Skies" and "Iridescent". I don't mean the instrumentation or anything, I mean that the latter two songs kind of sound like regular radio hits. BUT, I understand if people love those songs.

I think the thing I admire most about this album though is the story of humanity. It's an honest story, not one they put in there for the sake of having a concept. These guys have been around the world so many times, and have seen things that we'll probably never see. I think it's amazing for them to carry these memories with them and put them into an album like ATS.

With that said, my fav songs: "The Catalyst", "Waiting for the End", "Blackout", "When They Come for Me", "Robot Boy", + all interludes were great.

OMG more hate, i just dont understand. It just such a pure song, its a classic original feeling that the rest of the album lacked. why do you hate it?

(And btw i hate Blackout for the first listening, but im not sure if it will grow on me)

I agree, this song is eargasm for fans of Chester's voice.

I actually think that Wretches and Kings is out of place and sucky on this album, its a great beat and that, but it just doesn't suit the album at all.

I would have never guessed that The Messenger would be the most divisive song on the album. I am 100% biased because I love any, and everything Chester does. With that being said though he has never done a song like this. My first impression was that the song was just so raw and full of emotion. It's like he let himself go. I could listen to it all day, and I would if the rest of the album wasn't so good also!!!!

...really? Was we listening to the same album? Because I swear Chester had more aggressive moments in this record than MTM.

Another thing is why be so sad about Chester's screams? He's not just going to throw them in there just for the hell of it, they're only used when necessary and when it fits the context of the song and lyrics. I can't see how people would prefer more screaming, it's not like there isn't any at all... I don't know. I guess I just tend not to focus on what isn't there and instead focus on what is.

What I love the most about this album is that they described it as an 'album album', and I completely agree. Everything on this record feels like it's necessary. There isn't a point where I thought, "they could've done without this track" or "that interlude was unnecessary." It's meant to be listened as a whole.

    Those clips were so misleading.

I'm up to "Blackout" right now, and so far I like what I've heard.

Anyone else think that the Radiance sounds a lot like something form Silent hill? It reminded me of that so much...
