Blackout and The Messenger are my favourites. I think Blackout maybe my favourite LP song ever, actually. Need to hear the whole thing before awarding it's prize.
Things that stand out: -Chester's vocals during The Messenger, like previous reviews indicated, are indeed very different. You can hear the passion in his voice during his performance. Should be a great acoustic anthem. -Requiem has a chance to be the best intro they have ever done. -The interludes add a very nice touch. Reminds me a bit of Reanimation. -Burning in the Skies is much softer than I had expected. Not sure if it will be a favorite of mine, but still sounds respectable. -Empty Spaces leak FTW! Hahahaha... -When They Come for Me sounds like its going to be a jam. Jungle-like beat, tribal-style chorus, electronic elements still heard. I like it! -Robot Boy is MUCH softer than I had expected. For whatever reason, I am reminded of Dead By Sunrise with this clip. -I have a feeling Waiting for the End will be my favorite song off of the album. I MUST HEAR THIS FULL SONG! -The award for most intriguing clip goes to Blackout, by far! Its soooo different, and I can't wait to hear it in full. -The Iridescent clip is leaving me guessing, mostly due to the LPTV "Something New" video. In it, Brad talks about how the song gets louder in a way that feels new. That clip is anything but loud, and only leaves me to wonder if, when, and how it accomplishes this. Sounds a bit generic for my liking, but we shall see. OVERALL: Sort of wish I didn't listen to these clips just so I could feel the surprise of the new sound, but I have a feeling that the surprise will still find me. None of these clips gave me goosebumps, but I'll leave that up to the full experience. Overall, I still think this will be the best Linkin Park album by far. It's so diverse, yet centralized on the new, different sound at the same time. I'm not gonna give it a rating out of 10, they are just clips. I will say though, I am very excited to hear this in full. From what I've heard so far, great job LP!
Kind of spoiler, more just my opinion. Waiting For The End reminds me of The Beatles. Just the way Chester sounds. I haven't listened to any others. I'm gonna make my friends do it for me. XD
At first THANKS LPA! All of the songs seem to be great, but I can't wait to hear When They Come For Me and Blackout live! The Messenger sounds like LP wanted to give the listeners a little piece of hope after all the war themes in the other songs.
Independent, Punk it says. Haha. Gonna listen to the previews when the website decides to speed up a little ^^.
LOL you really think thats the problem that would be real epic. It shows again that LP has the best fans
When you suffered enough And your spirit is breaking You’re growing desperate from the fight Remember your love And you always will be.. ? I can't figure out the last part; but wow.
Haha yeah, the shoutbox was replaced with the front page with the colors off right before it went down, too. Seems to be ok now though. I'm really liking this iridescent clip.
WOW. I'm really proud of the guys for changing things up! I know I personally won't let myself hear more than the clips now, and I definitely feel a thread between the tracks. I can barely contain my excitement at work, I definitely let out a shriek of joy. I know that it is very hard to get a good sense out of all the tracks, but Blackout sounds even better than I imagined, and I can't stop moving each time I hear When They Come for Me. When I first read reviews, I thought that Chester wouldn't be very present on this album, but from what I can tell, his voice sounds beautiful and really resonates on a majority of the clips. YAY for seven days!
Waiting for the End should be a prequel to In the End. Unfortunately, that clip didn't do much for me. I didn't really care for Iridescent as well. Those sound really M2M to me. Blah. The rest sounds very fresh and excellent.
