"A king can only reign 'til he's dead" Are you guys sure those are the right lyrics? I swear I hear Mike say "A king can only reign 'til instead" followed up with "here comes that day, its off with his head".
Probably a lyric video to stop all this confusion. I bet they release a lyric video or something the day we unlock A Light That Never Comes. Also, I think he says "A king can only reign til' it's dead/ Cause that day is off with his head"
Okay. I'm definitely hearing this "When I was young, they told me/they said Make your bed, you lie in that bed A king can only reign til it's dead Here comes that day, it's off with his head."
I really feel like it's "A king can only reign till instead / there comes that day it's off with his head".
The problem I have with it is, instead what? It doesn't match with the line that comes afterwards. At least not to me.
Well, "A king can only reign til it's dead, here comes that day it's off with his head" not only makes sense, but is also grammatically correct. In the first line, "a king can only reign til it's dead," is looking at the word "king" as the object, hence the "it's." That line can also be part of what mike was told when he was young. The word "king" is generalized and it isn't until the last line of "here comes that day, it's off with his head" where the generalized word gets a person associated to it by use of the word "his." The last line is the action of overthrowing the "king" and that is the bed that Mike will get to lay in. That goes back to my quote of myself where I said "You are what you make out of life."
I love the song! When I first heard the clip I didn't think there would be any guitar but then I listened to the whole song, from the bridge to the end there's def guitar in there
And seeing as kings only lose their throne in death, it makes total sense for it to be the dead lyric. It's not like the president where every four years they vote in a new king. No, most kings are given that right via their blood line and thus they only lose their reign when they're dead. So it's dead, not instead.
Perhaps you're all right. I swear I hear an "n" sound in there between "it's" and "dead" but what you guys are saying makes more sense.
Speaking of the game, they just granted the players 5,000,000 MWh for having 50,000 recruits in just 3 days. So pretty much had the fan not decompiled the game and leaked it, we probably would've had the song by next week as we're now halfway there.
Also, it's "You cannot catch me / cannot hold me" not "You cannot catch me / You cannot hold me". The second "you" shouldn't be in there.
I once wrote a giant facebook post as a joke talking about how the line from Thrift Shop that goes "they had a broken keyboard, I bought a broken keyboard" was actually a deep analysis of the state of the U.S. economy. The point is, sometimes a bad line is a bad line.
