My manager is having a computer issue.

She has a Toshiba lap top. She went on vacation and before she left her computer was working fine.

When she returned it wouldn't boot up normally, so she tried to go into safe mode and it just seemed to make things worst.

Now all that comes up is "A disk read error occurred Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart" and goes into a continuous loop.

    I can't get into BIOS.

She didn't give me the OS CD so I'll try to get that soon, but what is the best solution to fix this?

She mainly wants me to get all of her data off of this machine.

The drive might be fried, but one thing you could try is to get an enclosure for the laptop drive, and plug it into a desktop and try some recovery from there.
