A Broken Man

I awoke
In hollow ruins so cold
I was soaked
Drenched in sweat I’m all alone
What happened here
To the ones that I have known?
Heart full of fear
These black seeds have been sown.

Drawn awake
By the misty, muted dawn
Yellow hazy state
Smoky rays of sun has shone
My body begins to shake
Throes of agony and pain
I know it’s not too late
To restore myself again

Now a presence of shadow
My arms in an embrace
Devoid of light and health
No sign of eyes or face

Silent, stalking, it knows my name
Not a breath, no fright or shame
Calling me with a silent cry
Casting me down into the night

A vortex of black consumed me
I was off to my home
Into it I collapsed
After that it all turned black:

I could not turn back.

 

Wow, I'm impressed.

 

i like it, although some of the rhymes feel a little forced, e.g "i awoke...i was soaked"

i liked the flow of this and i didn't think it was too forced at all.
