"You and your closest 49 friends" , who has 49 close friends? Oh well, still looks like a funky place to hold a party.
Holy crap, I want one There's a 727 house (available to the public, nonetheless) and a 727 hunting lodge as well...
SmashPilot, wouldn't you prefer a FLYING 727? BTW have you read about a guy planning to mod a 727 so it could become the 727 "Mainstage" for airshows? It'd offer a flying demo then could serve as anything you want it on the ground or something like this.
Silence... A340-500 all the way...or anything big...727s smoke a lot, and it makes 'em cool, but if I've gotta be Sherlock Holmes to find the different parts of the autopilot, it's annoying. I think the Boeing engineers came together one day and said "Gee, I wonder how far apart we can stick all the autopilot controls and still have a functioning plane"... Oh, and there's nothing like a lightly-loaded, short-range flight on a 757-200...takeoffs like that rock...the UPS '57 that serves here can climb in excess of 9000 feet per minute...for the rest of ya, when you feel like you're going straight up in a plane, that's usually no more than 4000 feet per minute, max...these things are rockets

Haha, yeah, I fly a lot...the other day, UPS's 757 took off on a noise abatement procedure, into a 25 knot headwind...whoooo! The Winnipeg Eight departure (CYWG.8) dictates a turn on course at 4000 feet, and the turn was made less than a mile from the end of the runway...that's 3300 feet (700' ASL here in Winnipeg) of climb in less than two miles...must've had some high octane gas in there...at 4000, the captain elected to actually level off for 30 seconds or so, because his speed bled off so fast... I've heard that plane get to FL330 in less than 12 minutes when it's empty...ah, the joys of having a scanner... Fedex likes to do it with their 727F fleet too, although nowhere near the '57 performance...still makes a nice show though... Oh, and the 4000fpm I was referring to was from a flight I took from YYC-YEG, took off into a 30kt headwind, and with a 23 degree climb angle to boot...I had a chat with the captain after that flight, somewhat to the extent of "holy crap man, now THAT was a takeoff!", and he replied "Yeah, 4000 feet per minute...!" 2000-2500FPM is more common...

Pro-94, EDACS I bet (the scanner)? Looking foraward to buy one, mainly for the fire frequencies but also for one-two-one point niner (CYQB) . I see a lot of regional airplanes (mainly AC Jazz), Airbus A330s (Transat, nice sight everytime), but not many freighters.

Hell, we don't get widebodies here...although we do see the AN-124 here on occasion. That, and an A310 is coming for the winter...hehe... The scanner's a Pro-29. Got the last one sold in Winnipeg. It does what I need it to do...and the occasional cell phone call too  Oh, and 121.900 is ground here...hehe...I think that's pretty much a standard freq, eh?

Makes it easier for pilots . I was there! As for the flights taking off from CYQB. Pro-29? Hmm... Must not have EDACS, wich is my biggest requirement. No wonder it's over 100 bucks and I just can't decide if I buy or not ! At least, you get some nice flights from AC at CYWG. Here, the farthest is like, Ottawa or Toronto...
