My local radio station played Breaking the habit a lotta times the last two days. does that mean its the next single?
Nope. Every local radio station is entitled to play other songs off albums but it doesn't necessarily make it a single. For instance, I hear "My December" and "Runaway" every now and then, but they weren't singles. Trust me, LPA will be one of the first to know what the next single will be and when.
This doesn't go here. Mike said "Breaking The Habit" will never be a single. And radio stations play non-singles all the time. Don't get your panties bunched up.
Mike said in a rolling stone interview (or some interview) that Breaking the Habit will never be a single. I can think of a few reasons. 1) Very un-Linkin-Park-ish. There's no guitars (except some that you can barely hear), no rapping, no screaming. It's just an overall pop-ish song. It could ruin their reputation when other non-LP fans hear it(although the song kicks ass). 2) Very personal song to Mike. 3) The song is about suicide and LP could get knocked heavily by critics for a song about suicide. LP were going to shoot a video in Prague, Czech Republic but Chester got sick and all video plans were cancelled.
breaking has some sick guitars. I can really hear them. But yeah, i agree with everything else. I think breaking the habit is way to personal and should only be for us fans to hear that song, not the entire world. Anyways, my radio station plays my december and papercut
my local rock station, they played "step up" a lot. it haven't been a single and will not be. I agree with you 100%, LPFAN05.
Who gives a #### what the critics think? BTH is not a pop-ish song. Just because a song isn't hard doesnt mean its going to be played on TRL. The teenies/poppies wouldn't accept it because it talks about suicide. Everyone is scared to talk about suicide these days so it wouldn't get much airplay on KISS and other radio stations.
the next single imo will be from the inside - demographically needs a slow song for meteora, easier to run is very similar to crawling so they will not use - breaking the habit is good, but they need a song w/ both vocalists - provides equal opportunity for both vocalists to speak equally
I think Easier To Run will be the next single. Easier To Run has a very Crawling type of style to it. Crawling is one of Linkin Park's biggest hits so they may try and do that again by releasing Easier To Run. However, Mike has said Don't Stay will be a single eventually, so that might be the next one, who knows.
actually for the background music on my rock station here they use A.06 and a mixed up version of the Dont Stay intro
I can't wait for the Don't Stay's video. I just want to what's going to be the European single. If it's going to be Nobody's Listening, then awesome.
I want it to be From The Inside or Don't Stay, both songs have alot of energy going through them. SO they would be my choice
i thought don't stay was going to be the european single. if anything they need "Easier to Run" (much like "Crawling") or "From The Inside" (kinda like the Meteora version of "Papercut"). "SIB" was the "In The End" version from Meteora and "Faint" is also much like "Papercut". Those two songs would boost record sales so much it wouldn't even be funny.
I think BTH would make such an amazing video, aww too bad it won't be though, I think it will be FTI, thats my favorite song off the album anywho!
i hope that it's either "Easier To Run" or "From The Inside" So far my two favorite songs off Meteora have become singles, so they need to add my third and fourth ;D but if "Don't Stay" becomes the single next, I won't be devastated! They're all good songs.
i think lying from you would also make a killer single, i love the guitar on it and this is totally of the topic but Jawknee ur penguin avatar was f*****g hilarious!!
Joe said they were heading over to shoot it a week after Faint was released. It has most likely been finished already.
