Is anyone else as hooked as I am on 24? It's by far the best drama on television, in my opinion. Day 4 storyline; Eighteen months after the conclusion of Season 3, CTU has a new leader, Erin Driscoll, a steely government agent who made firing Jack one of her first priorities. After the explosion of a commuter train, Jack, who is now working for Secretary of Defense James Heller and also is romantically involved with Heller's married daughter, Audrey Raines, suddenly finds himself heading back to CTU for a meeting with Driscoll. Jack believes that the train explosion is a prelude for bigger things. Meanwhile, a sleeper group of three Muslim extremists posing as a regular family are planning to carry out devestating attacks on the internet, rendering the American government useless. Secretary of Defense Heller and Audrey Raines have both been kidnapped, and Jack is now doing anything in his power to save the love of his life, and the man he was hired to protect. I have been hooked on this show since the first hour of day one. Keifer Sutherland is an incredible actor. The drama and action is amazing, accompanied by a great script. It's a perfect show. I used to really love this show. i saw every episode in season one and about five eps from season 2 But then the network that it was on moved it to a really late and unstable timeslot so i kept missing episodes etc. i wish they would put it back on at a decent timeslot. I also think that the storyline for season 4 sound really good. Its good that jack insnt working at CTU anymore cause it makes things more interesting. hopefully they will show it here. And i agree with you mark, kiefer sutherland is an awesome actor. I loved him in phone booth the most.
I was thinking about posting a topic about this...but I knew that you would've done it! I watched the 2nd half of Season 2, all of Season 3 and so far, all of this season! I think it's going back to the great show that it was back in 2...just that in your face action/drama style...plus, he's Jack Bauer dammit...nobody that will take no crap from no one EDIT- Oh, BTW Mark...I didn't notice Kiefer Sutherland in the background of your 24 sig until I saved it on my website!
You should seriously pick up the first season on DVD, or at least rent it. The season one finale is the greatest one hour of drama I have ever seen. I've never watched the end of a show and just sat their with my mouth wide open like after that finale. See the episode tonight? Spoilers; I think it was a no-brainer that Jack would go into the terrorist headquarters to save the Hellers despite an incoming missile attack. I seriously hope he gets Audrey out alive, but I can only see one of the terrorists getting away with her and keeping Jack occupied trying to find her for many more hours. I thought that when Behrooz's mother handed the gun to him that he would shoot her and his father there on the spot, seeing that he hates what they're doing so much. I mean, they killed his innocent girlfriend and have no consideration for his feelings, so he had motive. I'm still predicting that he betrays his parents somehow. It was a pretty smart idea for Audrey and James to try poisoning themselves by breaking the gas valve to spite the terrorists. I was happy it failed though because it would've just sucked if the love of Jack's life just died within the first five hours of the show. Although, it would've led way for some merciless ass-kicking. Where's Kim and Chase? I know Chloe mentioned them in the first hour but I still need to see Elisha Cutherbert at least once! Overall, tonight's episode was quite good. The highlight of the season so far for me is when Jack held up the Mercury Mart. That was so cool and inventive.
Haven't had time to watch it, but it does sound like a great show. My boyfriend's roommate is obsessed with it, owns the first season, so maybe I'll borrow it sometime.
Yeah I saw the episode last night and like you...thought it was obvious about everything you just said about last night's episode!
Ok, i'm sorry for double posting but I decided to bump this thread up cause I have a theory about the end of the season! I (along with my parents who watch the show with me) believe that by the end of the season, Jack will be president of CTU!
Truth be told, you could probably know by the last half hour what went along in the first half hour...Heller and Audrey were saved, the main dude running the Internet feed and their capture was killed, and we learned the feed was a setup so that they could basically hijack the controls or whatever from the "104" nuclear plants.
I never could sit through 24. I don't really like the 1 hour = 1 hour in the show concept. its an interesting idea. But i things take too long to fold out.
Just saw the first thirty mins I missed last night. Wow. What an episode. Action-packed and gripping. How ingenious of Jack it was to give Audrey the knife! I liked how Jack took pretty much everyone down with help from Heller. Man, what an episode. I had a terrible feeling about Marianne the minute I saw her. It'll be interesting to see how this pans out. I can see Stuart (I think that's the name of the nervous guy at CTU) getting seriously hurt or killed by her soon.
FINNALY! I've been looking for a thread like this.. I'm such a 24 whore. I just watched last monday's episode today (taped it) oh man. That was so...action-y. IM SO HAPPY THAT TONY'S BACK! *big grin* Yeah anyway. I actually cried with the part about Edgar's mom. it was so sad. :'( I can't believe Nuavi ( i believe that's how it's spelt) How could ANYONE ever kill their own family? I guess when you're on a mission like that everyone and everything is expendable. wow..im just ranting now haha. I'll be back later.
I tried watching it but I just couldn't sit through another episode,it eventualy got mentioned on TV sooo much that I got hating it :wth: ,then my media studies teacher starts going on about it :angry: and now theres a topic on the LPA forums! 24'S TAKING OVER THE WORLD!!!!!!
