So what do you expect from the new LP album coming out this year? How do you expect the album cover will be? Will there be more soft songs or more hardrock/screaming? Mike also said he will be rapping more on these new songs
I want this album to be very diverse and very layered sonically. To be honest, I am hoping LP goes in the direction of experimental progressive rock. Not exactly like "Muse", but I'm talking like in the direction of Pink Floyd and Rush...obviously with a modern twist.
can be anything...hybrid theory was different from meteora and different from minutes to midnight and no matter what I love wat the guys they play..and come in its LP how can they disappoint
I'd really like a more electronic presence and a few more heavier songs. Given Up and No More Sorrow were great heavy songs on MTM, but I'd love a Live-QWERTY style song.
Things I wanna hear... - More intricate and hectic-sounding drum patterns. - Better placement of Mr. Hahn's scratching. Not just at pivotal points of the songs (like before chorus/intro/bridge). They should take a leaf out of Incubus' book. They use turntable scratching very creatively. - More complex guitar works. - Songs with build-ups (like No Roads Left) - Mike rapping - Mike singing - Use of obscure instruments
I hope it´s going to be very mixed... i like most the rap ongs where is also a part of hard singing, you know. but i love also the songs where chester sing a lone in a not so hard voice like, leave out all the rest, or sth. like that. and the cover, i hope, would be in the background very dark and in the foreground very bright colours. I hope you know what i mean.
I'd still love to see em tackle a 6-10 minute instrumental, Either on the lines of Pink floyd or Metallica.
How do you want it to be? An album that evokes the mood and feel of: Young Buck Ft. Chester - Slow Ya Roll http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2I9ucQXkVOU DJ Vice feat. Mike Shinoda - Freestyle http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6868WYF3Ysw Handsome Boy Modeling School - Rock 'n' Roll (ft. Mike Shinoda & Chester Bennington) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mlmCBNVDS0c ^ In short, an expansion of these elements would be quite welcoming.
Complexity (and no, I dont necessarily mean shredding solo's), more instrumental sections and longer songs. Other than that, just be unique.
I'd love to hear them go in that direction... a few songs with AVA-style instrumentals would be sick, I'd also love to see them experiment with maybe a 6+ minute song as a closer, along the lines of Little Things but maybe a little harder and darker... similar to "23" by Jimmy Eat World, "Valkyrie Missile" by Angels and Airwaves, "Fireflies" by Saosin, "The Light and the Glass" or "In Keeping Secrets" or another long one by Coheed, or even something totally out there like "A Little Piece of Heaven" by Avenged Sevenfold... just hit me with an incredibly epic song on this album and I'll be more than satisfied... and like one of the previous posters said, more songs that start out slow and build like No Roads Left
I think they should listen to how they play One Step Closer live, like with the extended intro and exit on road to revolution or the bridge section in Live in texas. They know how to take a song and jam it out beyond the simple formulas they usually use. I wanna see that on record.
