Coming off their show at the SiriusXM Town Hall Special, which was the band's first live appearance since their performance at the X games back in late June, Linkin Park is officially kicking off the 2012 Honda Civic Tour tonight in Bristow, Virginia at Jiffy Lube Live. MUTEMATH will be the opening act, but Incubus will not join the tour until its 3rd show in Mansfield, Massachusetts. For Linkin Park, this will be their 5th time playing in Bristow. They last played there on July 27th, 2008 as a part of Projekt Revolution.

Tonight's show in Bristow will be the start of a tour that has been highly anticipated by many fans since its announcement back in April. Prior to the full release of LIVING THINGS, the only songs from the new album that have been played live are BURN IT DOWN, LIES GREED MISERY, and TINFOIL. Also, Mike has rapped the last verse of UNTIL IT BREAKS over the intro of Waiting for the End on several occasions. However, with the full album now being released, fans can expect to see a lot more songs from LIVING THINGS to make their live debut on this tour. In fact, it has already been reported that LOST IN THE ECHO was played at the SiriusXM Town Hall Special earlier this week (the performance will will air on Octane channel 37, on Tuesday, August 14 at 9:00 pm ET).

In a recent interview with VMusic Chester went into detail about what new songs will be included into the set when asked "Will we hear much from your new album Living Things at Soundwave?" he answered with the following:

"We're working in 'Burn It Down', 'Lost In The Echo', 'In My Remains', 'Victimized', 'Lies Greed Misery' - they'll all be part of our set going forward and touring. At that point, maybe 'Powerless' will be getting worked in there, so a lot of the new record is going to be incorporated into our new set, as well as a lot of the songs that people really want to hear. And also some songs that we've put on the backburner for a while, so hopefully a lot of a our fans that came to our last show will get something that they didn't really get before."

Although this was regarding the just announced Soundwave Festival, this could also pertain to the Honda Civic Tour, so at the very least we can expect to see BURN IT DOWN, LOST IN THE ECHO, IN MY REMAINS, VICTIMIZED, LIES GREED MISERY and maybe POWERLESS & TINFOIL some time down the line. It will be interesting to see which songs these replace from earlier headlining sets and which songs they'll be playing from the "backburner".

The guys over at LPLive were a part of the dress rehearsal which took place last night, where the band rehearsed through select songs for an audience of LPU members. We won't post them in the show post for spoiler purposes but if you want to see what they played and get a better idea of what to expect, you can view the full rehearsal setlist here.

After tonight's show the band will head over to Connecticut to play a show the next day in Uncasville. You can view all the Honda Civic Tour dates on the LPA Tour Page.

We won't post the rehearsal spoilers for fans who don't want to see, but there's no way we can do this in every show post as we'll be talking about the previous setlists. We also can't stop people discussing them on the forums. If you don't want to be spoiled, your best bet is to just avoid the tour posts all together.

Considering that the one above is just a soundcheck playlist, I can't wait for someone to tweet in the actual setlist tonight. So excited.

P.S. Will it be streamed? :kappa:

You seriously can't expect us to keep a whole thread spoiler free, because then you must consider people who are going to the last show of the tour but no other, which means you'd have to have limited discussion up until that point, and that is quite a while I'd say add a note which tells everyone that there may be spoilers in the thread, and they should read at their own risk, either than or make us all use spoiler tags.

    You wish, Nish. (lulz)
