Is there going to be/do you want LP to release a live album for ATS?

I think the question is simple enough. I know Dream Theater has almost consistently done so for every album since Scenes from a Memory (5th album), the only exception being their most recent (10th) album.

Who wants a live album? Do you think LP is going to do one?

I think they should wait until they release another album before doing a Live Album, unless the live album is of them performing ATS straight through or something. After Road to Revolution, I don't think there's a need for another Live Album right away.

I think now would have been the time to make a really strong live album, pity Road to Revolution came out. If the band actually does re-work the pre-ATS songs like they said they were going to do, it would have been great to have them on an album along with the ATS stuff. Live up to that "destroyed and rebuilt our band" thing.

Of course if they did it now, nobody would care since they already have more live recordings out there than anyone wants.

I think it would be in Linkin Park's best interest to make another live album honestly. First off, the sooner they can get out of Warner's awful contract the better. Plus, it would be nice to see a live DVD with their stage set up and how they perform a lot of new songs and how they switched up songs to fit A Thousand Suns more. Let's just hope that if there is one, that they don't have ANOTHER recording of Breaking The Habit. I don't care how fucking popular it is/was.

It seems like it would actually make sense for them to release one now, but a third live albums already would be more than enough.

A live DVD is just something extra for the fans so I have no complaints. We will not lose anything if they make another live album so imo they can make as many as they want.

    -facepalm-

Just because they've used Breaking the habit tons of times on LPU CD's does not mean its a bad song! Breaking the Habit for the win

Wouldn't mind if they did another live album so long as it features very heavy on MTM and ATS, plus possibly a few rarities (mix it up throw on Carousel, And One, Pretend To Be) this would be a nice experience.

I never said it was bad, I'm just sick of the endless recordings of it.

And by the way, your sentence contradicts itself.

A DVD with every single performance of Breaking the Habit. Now that would be AMAZING :awesome:

Agreed 100%. I wouldn't want another live album full of boring singles that we've heard a thousand and one times.

A live DVD for A Thousand Suns wouldn't be too bad. They should wait until 2011 though because then we get something new inbetween.

    This^.

I wreckon they will release a new live DVD, especially if the visuals are going to be as good as they say. They could throw in [real] bonus songs recorded at other gigs, not just songs cut from the actual set like RTR.
Hey, why not have a tour documentary on it too?

I wouldn't mind another live DVD, as long as it met a couple requirements:

    1. It should focus on a headlining tour/show in the United States. No disrespect intended, but I think it's a tad ridiculous that this far into the band's career, their official live output consists of an over-produced splice job of them playing to half-empty arenas as the 3rd act on the bill, a 6-song collaboration with another artist at a tiny club, and a one-off show in the UK.
    2. It needs to have some kind of legitimate bonus content. It's bugged me to no end that just about every DVD the band has released with the exception of Frat Party has been lacking in this department. Rehearsals, backstage footage, interviews with some of their touring crew, there's practically none of this kind of stuff out there right now, and what IS out there is heavily edited for short videos like LPTV and such.

What I'd really like to see is a DVD set documenting an entire Projekt Revolution tour. I know it would be hard to get all the bands on board under normal circumstances, but it's not like it'd be hard to set up a tour that consists mostly of label-mate bands. Warner's roster has enough depth that it wouldn't interfere much with the spirit of Projekt Revolution, which is bringing lots of different kinds of artists together. Maybe make it a 3-disc set, one disc highlighting all the opening acts (higher-billed bands getting more featured songs), one disc with LP's entire headlining set, and one disc of bonus material.
