I was looking through the album notes the other day to try and determin who/what were the speeches used throughout the album, but then I noticed the lack of a familar name in the credits. Where was David Cambell??? The guy responsible for arranging the string parts for the past 2 LP records -not to mention Fort Minor. I'm either missing it big time, or he really wasn't apart of this record - rather strange as i swear i can hear live strings in WTCFM & iridescent & bunch of other tracks. Help anyone?
A lot of the 'strings' you hear are actually heavily effect-laden guitars. Watch the live Waiting for the End for example. Who knew that was guitar?
I would wager any Cello/violin we hear was played by Phoenix as he tweeted about it during the summer. THey didn't use Campbell because they didn't need him/full string sections.
Thanks guys, Thats what i was thinking myself. Phi could easily be playing a cello amoungst the electronic maddness throughout the album (Cambbell wasn't creatited on "in Between" on MTM so I pressume thats Phi) its a shame to see Campbell go, but if the guys can do it all themselves i guess they dont really need him now. +1 Mike Tremilo picking! made me respect the song a whole lot more. I reckon there's a whole lot more guitar on ATS than we first realize. Can't wait to see more ATS tracks live
Something we agree upon! *HIGH FIVE*
