Musically, ATS (and MTM too) is probably better than HT only because it features the whole band contributing full time. And as I am someone who was, and still is to some extent, impacted by HT's power not only then but now as well. It really is the first album that punched a hole through my psyche and subconscious and allowed me to fully appreciate how music can affect you on a personal level. I still remember the first time I popped the free cassette single (lawlz) for One Step Closer into my car stereo as I was cutting the wrapper off Limp Bizkit's Significant Other CD. Holy hell it was a moment that changed me forever. But I dont consider that another "era" of LP. Between that and the first time I saw the video for it, it is etched into my memory forever.

I have not fully digested ATS enough to make a comparison to HT or even Meteora. I can only say it is a full step or two up from what they began on MTM. It took a bit for me to warm up to MTM and I suspect the same with ATS will happen too. Though I can say the impact of ATS and MTM has not nearly been the same as I had with HT and Meteora. And dont get me wrong, I'm not one of those "OMG I WANT ANOTHER HYBRID THEORY!!!!!!!!1" album fans. I love LP's music and I like the direction they are going but it does not and never will mean that I like every album, single or re-mix they release. In my heart, HT will always be king and that is not a slight to any other thing that LP does but it has the sole purpose of how they impacted me and the world with HT.

    I honestly can't chose.

Lyrically and musically ATS is better but HT holds many memories for me so it's hard to choose.

I think there's a lot of ATS hype going on right now, come back to me some months down the road to tell me if its truly "replaced" Hybrid Theory. The answer is then likely, it hasn't, in no way, except maybe for a few, and thats of course personal. Hybrid Theory has lasted 10 years, and still sounds fresh to many, you absolutely cannot make such judgements on A Thousand Suns yet.

    Hype. Key word.
