So when re-reading my pre-order for the new album, it said the CD/DVD would be in a holographic Digipak case. Now, for the longest time I didn't pay attention to the "digipak" part, and today it finally dawned on me that I had no idea what that meant. So, after doing some research, I found that digipaks are like those 3-sided covers that fold in and out of each other (like what Road To Revolution comes in). Actually, I think that's awesome that the new album and DVD come in one of those together.

That got me thinking, I own MP3 versions of all LP's albums I got off iTunes (Hybrid Theory I had on CD but it's all busted up now). So, I was wondering if there's digipak versions of HT, MET, and M2M. I'd love to have all their studio albums in the digipak format if I could get them. Anybody know if I can find any of the albums previously released in such a way?

Yes, there's digipak versions of all of them, as far as I know. Here in Argentina both Reanimation and Meteora were released on digipak format only, and MTM was released on digipak and jewel case versions. Only some special editions of Hybrid Theory were digipak, I think.

That being said, I hate digipaks and I bought Reanimation and Meteora again on jewel cases at the first chance I got

awesome, i know meteora does, but it was the other two i didn't know for sure. well i'll be going to a few record stores nearby today then to look around. that would be so sick to have them all in digipaks.

Jewel cases and Digipacks all seem to have their ups and downs. Jewel cases seem to attract fingerprints, while digipacks do tear sometimes. I honestly prefer the digipacks though, I just like the look of them better.

jewel cases get stuck for me sometimes and the cover actually breaks off beyond repair. i'm the kind of person that takes really good care of their stuff, so i don't have to worry about tears.

the hybrid theory getting busted up previously was because i got it in 2000, i was 9. lol

There's a few dings on my Meteora and Reanimation digipaks. The Digipaks don't take much damage, though Jewel cases are known for cracking if opened wrong.

Never seen a digipak HT. I have the normal jewel case one and a special edition, which is another jewel case in a slip-on cover..

Digipaks are the sh*t. I always pick those over jewel-cases if possible. :)

you can always fix a jewel case by just exchanging the case with another piece from another cd...not too hard. And there is no digipack for HT.

yeah i was afraid of that. hmm...maybe i'll just buy them in jewel cases and get ATS in a jewel case at a later time. regardless of which i end up getting, i want them to match. lol i'm a freak like that.

Digipaks are actually more environmentally friendly these days. Lots of albums are coming in those since they can use recycled paper to make the packaging rather than lots of plastic. I prefer digipaks and I take really good care of them :)
