So my old JBL speakers I got 2 years ago have finally succumbed to my years of abuse (they sound like tin cans now) and I am in the market for a good set of speakers. Preferably I'd like to upgrade to a 5.1 surround system for the computer, instead of the 2 speaker setup I have right now. However I am not looking to spend a ton. Preferably I'm looking for something under 150, that's still impressive sound wise. Suggestions?
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16836121006 I haven't heard these myself, but its a great price, and i know this brand usually makes good stuff. The reviews are great for it, too. It's only 70 watts total though. The low end of the frequency response is listed at 40Hz, too, so might not have great super deep bass, but several reviews say its fine. That newegg site is great for computer related stuff, and you may be able to find some louder ones there if you look around on there.
Wow the reviews are very glowing for these speakers, and at 69.99 they're about 100 less than these Klipsch speakers I was listening to at Best Buy that (according to reviews) have a very fragile plug.
Logitech Z-2300. A 2.1 set but are beautiful and invaluable to me. I've had them for years and they BOOM.
I'm not sure about the price, but I've got a set of Altec Lansings (w/ subwoofer) that have treated me phenomenally.
