I was thinking, maybe they could make Breaking the Habit the next single. It's easy to listen to and that's what the general public like. But on the other hand, because Mike has been trying to write it for so long, making a video would ruin it. This could be the case, but if they really tried, they could turn it into an awesome video. Just a thought. What do you think?
Linkin Park has stated many times that Breaking the Habit will never be a single. It's unlikely that has changed.
Yes. Mike said that the song is too personal to him and it will never be made into a single.
its like that evanescence song, the one amy dosnt like, whats it called

If she's that ashamed of a song she made...why'd she make it to begin with?
its personal or something
If she's that ashamed of a song she made...why'd she make it to begin with?
Who said she was ashamed of it? It's a song that was personal to her that she didn't want anyone but her close friends and family to hear, but it somehow got on the internet. The band's been doing everything they can to get it to stop being downloaded online, and it's so far worked pretty well. It's like "Breaking The Habit" (not the same lyrical idea) is to Mike, except LP put theirs on a CD, whereas Evanescence did not.
I read somewhere that LP performed Breaking The Habit in the Smokeout Fest. I don't know, but I feel that breaking The Habit have a chance to be the next single. Damn WB
I'm sure they also performed Lying From You. What makes you think that isn't going to be the next single? Just because they performed a song doesn't mean it's going to be a single.
They said a couple of days ago that they'll release a new single and then a week after they perform a song they never played before in concert. Coincidence? I'll leave that for you to decide
It'd be weird as a music video, 'cause Mike doesn't have a part in it. ( besides writing it ) there's guitar parts right? it'd just look weird because of the way it is musically. If you're a big fan-you'll hear it on the album, that should be enough right? yeah, i reckon it'd be too personal. I reckon 'nobody's listening' would be a pretty good song for a music video/single... what does everyone else think?

Too bad Breaking the Habit won't be a single, cuz that's one of my favorites by LP. I don't think a video would "ruin" it, but like all videos, it would have to be done right.
If you think about it... If LP were to make a corresponding video to the song, the media would jump all over them stating things like the band is sending negative messages to their fans. Even though it may not look like that to us, the fans, you have to remember that not only us exist in the world, and there are those who jump on others for every little mistake that goes down, so eh, if it becomes a video, then I don't think I'd be too happy about it because I do feel the song can be quite personal. But nonetheless, only time will tell.

if WB make lp release BTH, i will rally against them, and start an online petition for lp to quit
Warner can't make them. LP usually just lets Warner decide so they don't have to bother with it. Warner Brothers is not going to release a single Linkin Park doesn't want and piss them off. Omar A: I think it's just a coincedence. Sort of a surprise treat.
I don't belive they'll do a BTH video, even if it's an excellent song, but saying that I wouldn't want one would be lying.
