Hi guys. I'm wondering what the differences between "A Thousand Suns" CD/DVD on LinkinPark.com and that one which Amazon offers. The difference in price is obvious but what stuff LinkinPark.com offers more for the extra money? I contacted with guys from TopSpinMedia (who managing LinkinPark.com orders) and they say that they don't have information about the actual differences between two products except that LinkinPark.com version is direct from Linkin Park and the largest percentage of the money goes directly to them. That's awesome, without a doubt, because we buying CDs (DVDs, Blu-rays) to show actual support for the band, not other intermediate companies. But lets talk about what differences "A Thousand Suns" CD/DVD from LinkinPark.com can include: custom case (a holographic, foil board digipak case)? I think that this is 100% true and no other ATS CD/DVD version will have the same CD case. additional bunuses on the DVD (hidden bonuses/links to official web site with additional bonuses)? Could be. What else? Or maybe bonuses like instant download of "The Catalyst" MP3 and "A Thousand Suns" MP3 on 09.14.10 is the cause of the higher price of CD+DVD set? What do you think?
The main difference is that you get early access to presale tickets, and an instant download of A Thousand Suns on the release date.
There will be no technical differences whatsoever. If you order from Amazon or LP.com, they will be identical. The only differences are what you've already stated: - More support for the band - Instant download of The Catalyst - Digital copy delivered September 14th - Access to pre-sale tickets
This is just your thought, or there's a proof of it? Because some other people (including me) thinks that there are "technical" differences... Or you proceed from the experience of past releases?
What "technical" difference could there possible be? -CD -DVD They are the same. Including whatever booklets are in there.
It's the same exact CD/DVD you will buy from anywhere. LP.com isn't advertising anything exclusive with their purchase. I can guarantee you it's the exact same Special Edition you can buy from anywhere. Making two separate versions wouldn't be productive or worthwhile and there would be no point to it. There is only one Special Edition, and no matter where you order from, it will be the exact same physical copy as anywhere else.
Guys, I'm not saying you're wrong or something. Just trying to figure out this question and made my assumption... Good point. I was just suspicious about the price and how it can be justified.
Amazon just tends to lower prices whenever they have presales. they do this with ALL new releases from what I have seen.
