Ever have a band that you really liked and all of the sudden a member quits. Well name those cases. What is your biggest WTF?!?! moment when a band member quit/got kicked out of a band For me Aaron Gillispie leaving UnderOath Austin Carlile getting kicked out of Of Mice and Men Cove Reber leaving Saosin Craig Mabbit and his departure from blessthefall (though now it's for the best) Thats off the top of my head. What are yours?
The events with Coheed and Cambria around 2006 with their bass player and drummer in and out of rehab and the drummer eventually quitting all together due to anxiety are upsetting to think about. Tom Denney quitting A Day To Remember was pretty weak too.
Peter Lindgren and Martin Lopez leaving Opeth. Stephen Van Haestregt leaving Within Temptation. Erik Kalsbeek leaving Textures. Amy Lee pretty much kicking everyone out of Evanescence just because she felt like starting the band over.
I was really heart broken when Alex Carapetis left Nine Inch Nails. Just think, if he stayed with the band, Ke$ha might be opening for NIN! zOMG!
I find it hard to get attached to any NIN member, as it is a rotating band. Although I really miss Aaron North and especially Alessandro Cortini from the same era.
Both times someone left Funeral for a Friend in the past couple of years, considering how they went for a relatively long time without that happening and then all of a sudden it happened twice. And Ratboy leaving Every Time I Die.
Pretty much the reason I stopped listening to Evanescence, I got sick of that. And Alessandro Cortini leaving Nine Inch Nails was a bummer for me too. They did just fine without him, but, then, the performances just involved sequenced loops that are triggered off-stage (I think) rather than the unique and ever-changing patches Alessandro would bring to the table.
Or, you know, the ones triggered by Trent, Justin, or Robin. They all get on the synths at some point during that concert run.
