http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RsRQQR6GHAE Is it me or does Mike sound alot more present in this version "God save us everyone, will we burn inside the fires of a thousand suns" than in the single?
I literally hear no difference, to be honest. Isn't the "God Bless" part in the intro supposed to be Mike, the "God Save" part in the second verse supposed to be Chester? And for that matter, who's singing the "God Bless" part in the end of the song? It sounds like Chester to me, but it caught me off guard since Mike sang that part at the beginning.
My file is 320kbps so I know it isn't my quality which was what I first thought. In the youtube version it sounds like the vocals have more layers of effects on them. At the end of the song I think it's Chester while the band sings "Lift Me Up, Let Me Go" in the background after the 5:00 mark.
Okay, for those who want to know who sings what part of the song this is the exact layout of who sings what and when. Mike sings the intro -God bless us everyone we're a broken people living under loaded gun That it can't be outfought, it can't be outdone, it can't be out match, it can't be out run. (whole band singing) No. Chester and Mike sing together this time God bless us everyone we're a broken people living under loaded gun That it can't be outfought, it can't be outdone, it can't be out match, it can't be out run. (whole band singing) No. Chester sings the "chorus" And when I close my eyes tonight -To symphonies of blinding light Then mike (and possibly the whole band) comes in to sing -God bless us everyone we're a broken people under loaded gun. Oh! -Chester then comes in to sing Like memories of cold decay Transmissions echoing away Far from the world of you and I Where oceans bleed into the sky The he sings -God save us everyone, will we burn inside the fires of a thousand suns? For the sins of our hands, the sins of our tongues, the sins of our father, the sins of our young. No! x2 Then Chester sings the "Chorus" again -And when I close my eyes to night to symphonies of blinding light Instead of Mike, it's Chester that sings the part -God save us everyone, will we burn inside the fires of a thousand suns? Oh! Like memories in cold decay Transmissions echoing away Far from the world of you and I Where oceans bleed into the sky -Synth solo, Pinao intro and soft guitar Chester then sings the chorus once more -Oh! Like memories in cold decay Transmissions echoing away Far from the world of you and I Where oceans bleed into the sky -Song slows down Later, Mike comes in and sings alone -Lift me up, let me go lift me up, let me go -Mike harmonizes with himself here on - lift me up, let me go lift me up, let me go lift me up, let me go lift me up, let me go It is then Chester that sings -Lift me up! Let go! While Mike is singing -Lift me up, let me go Lift me up! Let me go! Lift me up! Let me go Lift me up! Let me go! Chester then sings -God bless us everyone, we're a broken people living under loaded gun and it can't be out fought, it can't be outdone, it can't be outmatched, it can't be out run x3 until outro (All while this is going on Chester sings -Ohhhh Ohhhhhhhh Ohhhhhhhhh Ohhh! While Mike sings lift me up, let me go, Ohhhhhhhh)
Listening to my version (which is also 320 kbps) I can actually hear that Mike is much more audible on the YouTube version. Although on my iTunes version you can still definitely hear Mike, but on the YouTube one you posted it seems he's got the dominating role. Interesting. It's faint, but there is a little bit of a difference. As far as the vocal effects go, I can't hear much difference there. Just the presence of Mike. The vocals are just so complex in this song. I listened to the end again, and I think you're right. Before the 5-minute mark, when the "God Bless" part starts up for the first time, it's definitely Mike. It has to be, because Chester is still singing the higher "Lift me up" part. Then the second time they say it I would definitely agree the band is harmonizing in the background while Chester does the "God Bless" part. All the more reason I want to see the music video. Maybe it'll clarify. haha EDIT: Well thanks for clarifying Jesse.
no i don't think it's that way....I think during the Lift me Up-Part Mike and chester are switching...this hook, until chester "screams" Lift me up let me go"
