Its alright. Probably the within the best soft songs though, surpassed only by TLTGYA and My December.
I like it. It shows that even back then the band had a softer, mellow side that they didn't fully develop until much later. On the other hand, it's one of the songs that puts into evidence how limited the guitar parts and bass lines are on Linkin Park. I wish that sometimes they would put a bit more effort into that and not just the song as a whole.
I think that 'She Couldn't' justifies the band's "new sound" in MTM very well. It's a solid demonstration that the band did not swerve away from what made them unique as far as some fans perceived it to have.
Usually I'd agree with you on that, but 'she couldn't has one of the most unquie and unusual guitar parts brads ever done. Sure it is repeats throughout most of the song, but its a beast compared to the likes of LOATR, Not alone, Blackbirds, HHH & BTH which are either just single or 2-note picking parts. Brads doing really neat finger picking in SH. I'm a guitarist myself & I always have trouble playing this song
