Don't worry... if you would've listened to them then it wouldn't be so hard waiting for the actual single to come out.

Still i'm surprised you've held out so long. Even I couldn't resist due to my peculiar curiosity.

Can someone please ban this douchebag? It's obvious he's trolling, and he's already been warned TODAY for such posts. It's fine to have your own opinion about the song, but not the way he's doing it.

he said nothing that was trolling, I think that he has a valid point, albeit the crap that was pulled in a different thread, where he was lying about hearing the full song. Though I do disagree with what he said about professional reviews saying that supposedly "prove" that music is inferior. But just because some people don't like it, doesnt make it inferior by any means. It just means that some people just have so much butthurt over LP that they won't handle change.

As for the clip, i cant wait until the song finally comes out so i can hear it in full, that way i can be finally satisfied.

So i'm trolling because I have a different opinion from the fan boys here? Come on boys, let's get real.

If ATS turns out to be amazing i'll be eating crow... and I would love to eat crow because there's nothing I would like most than for this album to be amazing after all the time we've been waiting for new LP material.

Okay, I just posted this in the Shoutbox, but: Guys, why the hell does it matter to you if someone likes the album/song or not? If you like it, awesome, good for you. If you don't great, I'm glad you have an opinion. Seriously.

There are plenty of people here who have different opinions. If you would put two and two together, you would notice that people are only jumping on your case, and not everyone else's.

No, you're not trolling by having another opinion. You're trolling because you're being an arrogant child about it all. You always act as if trivial things like sales or reviews determine quality. Besides, IT'S MUSIC, AND IT'S SUBJECTIVE TO THE LISTENER. Just because you don't like it, or your friend doesn't like it, or all his friends don't like it, it doesn't mean the band is doing something wrong. If you don't like it, then listen to something else. Don't act like you know what the band "really wants," because you're not one of them, though to be honest, I'm starting to believe you really have NO idea what I mean when I say that.

Dude we understand you don't like it. I'm not huge fan either but you don't see me wasting my time with people who do. If they dig it. Then by all means let them. Every single motherfucking thread that has been posted about this shit you feel the need to talk about how much you dislike it. That fine if you don't but don't come here and just talk shit about how IN YOUR OPINION how Linkin Park has fallen from grace. Either STFU or GTFO. Seriously now

I'm not just talking about now, I'm talking about since he's been on the site.

People need to stop throwing around broad generalizations. Not everyone who likes the song is a blind fanboy. Conversely, not everyone who hates the song is stuck in the past.

Quit recycling the same tired arguments.

Professional reviews? Would you mind linking me to any of these so called "professional" reviews you've been talking about? Because so far, every review I've read about the music from music publications has been positive. Rolling Stone said its one of their most eclectic albums yet, and praised the band's creativity and risk taking. That often quoted French article admired LP for not sticking to their tried and true "Intro > verse > chorus > verse > bridge > chorus" formula and taking a chance.

British Radio Station XFM said the following:

"I had someone come in and play me brand new Linkin Park material in the wake. Someone from the management company. This is no lie. Came in to the XFM studio with a cop from America who would flown over with the one copy of the 6-track sampler of the new Linkin Park album and basically this cop's job was to guard it at all times. This is the true story. It really was the case of the new material being on the lock and key. But it was really good and actually very different. If you're one of those people who thought that Linkin Park have made the same album 3 times as far as their new studio releases go, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with this new one. There's rapping on it, but not the kind of rock-rap type of stuff that Mike Shinoda has done in the past. And the track is going to be the first single. At its full-length is almost proggy in places. It's very very good. Lots of take in, lots of new layers coming with the Linkin Park sound. And of course they have confirmed the full UK tour."

And just recentely Zane Lowe said the following about the new LP track:

"Listening to new Linkin Park 'The Catalyst' right now. Very good. And not what I expected at all. Sound wise, very little guitar replaced by an up tempo, almost jungle rhythm, urgent synth line and a really strong vocal. First play of new Linkin Park will be on Monday night. Hottest Record at 7:30pm #RADIO1"

Nowhere at all, besides metalsucks.net (who are notorious for bashing Linkin Park) have I read any professional reviews that are criticizing Linkin Park for not sticking to their old sound. If anything, these professional UNBIASED reviewers have commended the band for proving they're not a 'one trick pony' and for stepping outside of the box.

And not every fan on here is blindly supporting what the band is doing. If you'd look farther than your own one-sided point of view, you'd see a lot of people who don't like the new track. Unfortunately, while some people don't like it just because it hasn't impressed them...a vast majority of them are people like you, who are trapped in 2003 and still want LP to regress back to being a nu-metal band with a radio friendly sound. Oh and FYI, Meteora was BASHED in the press for sounding too similar to their first album.

And incase you don't believe me, I present to you the following example of why Meteora got terrible reviews in the media:

    Hit The Floor Vs. Papercut

Remix made by me. To prove a point. Hit the Floor Vs. Papercut Vs Ppr:Kut

Three different songs. Three different albums. Yet no tempo change or pitch change was done to acheive this mashup. All three songs laid perfectly over eachother with no alterations whatsoever.

And yet you say that Linkin Park's old sound was "superior", not "generic" and experimental.

Get over yourself. Not only are you coming off incredibly foolish with your blind defense of a sound that even the band themselves said was stale, but you lied about hearing The Catalyst before anybody else, and can't even produce the reviews you claim to cite to make your point. You might want LP to sound the same as they did 10 years ago, and return back to an old sound so that they can have Hybrid Theory Part 3, but the majority of the fanbase does not.

It's okay to hate a song because you don't think it sounds good. But when you hate it because it's not another Meteora style song, and doesn't fit the band's old sound...well that's just acting like a tool.
