With the difference that Lacuna Coil are much more metallic than Evanescence.
Though i think they promote that goth look just for commercial reasons, they don't sound very goth to me.

 

Isn't gothic music like, Cradle Of Filth type stuff?

No, Cradle Of Filth is just heavy metal.

Lacuna Coil is the perfect example of Gothic rock/metal. Evanescence is just like them, but they're toned down from Lacuna Coil a bit.

 

Thank you for sharing, I agree with (more or less) every word said there I agree about the overexposure especially...a good band becomes cool, gets huge, then suddenly it becomes uncool to like them again. I know a guy who thought LP were "pretty good" when OSC was first getting airplay, months later when Crawling became a hit they suddenly "sucked" (he still gives me a hard time every once in awhile about liking them).

Will - I have to disagree. What is gothic about Evanescence? Most of their music is semi-heavy, it's not very fast, and Amy Lee does not have the "scary" gothic voice. In my opinion, just because Amy Lee has a "gothic" thing going does not make the music she makes gothic.

As for Marilyn Manson taking out 2 ribs...I still believe he did have 2 taken out. The guy got breast implants so I don't dought him taking out 2 ribs. I haven't read a quote from him saying it's false so I believe it.
