Today we are profiling an interpretation of "The Catalyst" made by long-time forum member ALivingGrudge, also known as Connor Gamradt. Great work, Connor!

Congrats! Like Mike said on his blog, it definitely has a Faith No More feel to it, and I think it was bold of you to use only the drums. That was a big risk, but the results are excellent. Good work on your mix!

I loved it but I'm interested in hearing how it'd have worked with the vocals. Not saying with the exact piano piece, because obviously the vocals wouldn't work here, but rather the same thing but tweaked to fit the vocals. Still really good stuff.

I've got to say this is absolutely fantastic. Epic and moving and it certainly stands out from the majority of the remixes others have done.

    Very nice. :)

Awesome, I REALLY like it. I'm just wondering if this isn't too much different from the original. Except the drums in the first part, it's actually completely new song.
    Anyway, great job!

That's what Mike actually wants. He says if people want more stems because they made it sound like an LP song, then they've got the wrong idea. He wants a full out remix.

Yeah, I know that ;) But as I said - for me it sounds almost like a new (great) song, and not like THE CATALYST REMIX. Just my opinion.

It's actually not, but thanks a bunch anyways!

And to the rest of you, I'm so ecstatic about your reactions. I'm truly humbled and grateful.

    EDIT:
I actually agree. I decided to risk it and just do my thing over it. He said we could use as little of the stems as we want, and that he wanted to hear what we as musicians have to offer. I thought I'd just try to be as original as possible while still following the rules.

Well, the band said the winner would either have their remix included or be on a track. Maybe your musical skills will get you in the studio.

Oh, and I forgot to mention...

The track sounds best with the vuvuzela option turned on.
