What does everyone here think of the song She Couldn't. I think the song is good, but there are many more better songs that Linkin Park have done compared to this song.
I think it's a good song. It's pretty relaxing. Of course, I prefer some LP songs more over SC, but I think it's an interesting song. Not a huge fan of the lyrics, though.
I'm not a big fan of the song tbh. When they made it, it might have been fresh but since then this sound has been replicated by many bands. So now it sounds tired.
I like it mostly for that badass synth bridge. If, when Mike says that their new album is more electronic, that it means it's got parts like She Couldn't, I will be a happy camper.
I really liked it TBH, it's very relaxing and nice to listen to once in a while. I can see why you would get tired of it though, the part when Mike says, "Won't be long 'til everybody knows", is kind of weird sounding to me.
the reason its 'weird' is cause it isn't Mike (another rapper sampled from a hit song of 99'), and partly the reason why SC has been kept a secret for all this time - due to copyright infringement. I love the song though, but its such an oddity. Out of all the songs written around that time there was nothing like it. only my december is comparable which came out 2 years later. Though it does bare a similar mood to the verse's of Forgotten. Again, i think its a nice song. who knows, there still might been more demos like it in a vault somewhere?
That rapper is Mos Def and the song is called B-Boy Document '99 by The High & Mighty. Amazing song. I listen to it all the time. As far as She Couldn't goes, it is one of my favorite demos that they did. It's definitely different than what they did in that time period, I wish they were allowed to release it themselves, since it's such an awesome track, but because copyright laws prevented it, they couldn't release it. I'm glad someone who had the CD for all these years actually released it finally to the public. It seems kinda selfish that the person kept it to themselves for all these years though.
I like She Couldn't a lot. To me it sounds a little sad and melancholic, like hopeless. But in some way it's also relaxing and soft/airy imo. I just don't like it that they edited someone else into it. I like that part, but I think it was a bad idea.
i think its an amazing song, its up there with my most played songs, its so mellow and like a more fast paced my december, but its got that interesting drum beat and bass line that makes it perfect just chilling out music, and the pace of it, not building to a massive massive bridge, but just flowing, i love it, i thinks its a brilliant song
I wish I had that thing in HQ. I just wish Chester's vocals were a little louder. Never the less it's a pretty decent song! Very surprising to be coming from the HT era!
It relaxes me like no other LP song does (except maybe My December). But I also find it a little too repetitive. It is a different sde of the band though, that's forsure.
Apart from the parts with Mike, and the Mos Def sample, it sounds a lot like Grey Daze to me... Could be just me tho. But anyway, I like the song. Not really one of their best, but not one of their worst either, IMO.
