"Message" Updated With New Image

Ugh.

Well, I THOUGHT I was done trying to figure this out, but I've just stumbled upon Mike's blog post, and now I'm going Google crazy.

 

converted the binary to base04 , the end of it looks like a video link to youtube.

Then as someone who studies music, could this binary either be A) translated into individual letters that represent letters on the scale (A,B, C#, etc.) or B) the 1s and 0s represent beats when a percussion instrument is hit in a song (like, I dunno, the single they shot the video for)?

which, each number corresponds to a letter/number/smybol. If you convert it it just the sentence we already have. But I'm thinking maybe there's a pattern in the numbers.

And I got something else, instead of converting the whole of the binary, I converted every other line, top to bottom. This is what I got

Can it be a coincidence that the first word is still falls, and that a lot of the words are still the same?

 

Right, I can't think past supernovas, dying suns, space/time travell and apocalypses. I've hit a block. It's 5:30am and I need sleep, see you guy 'n gals in 8 hours.

 

I just thought of something. Mike is Japanese. Maybe the binary should be read from right to left (like manga?)

 

Hi everyone, I thought I'd join to throw in my two cents.

Given that we've decoded the binary into text, its highly unlikely that the binary itself will have any other meaning, for two reasons. One: There are no gibberish words, they are all a words in some language, meaning that every string of 8 numbers would have to be coded to have two meanings, which would require more work/wizardry than I can imagine. Two: As far as decoding into a picture or a sound or something, its way too short of a string. I haven't done a character count, but I doubt its over 100 bytes, or 0.1 kB.

The farthest googling got me before I gave up was that "Brightness Falls" is the title of a book. Trying to google the whole thing as phrases separated by languages quickly gets nowhere, though (googling explode gets you pages about coding in php, which I find hard to relate to a book, for example). Maybe I just need sleep and my creative juices will get going again.

Okay. So if we're still translating the code the same way as before, what was the word-for-word translation from the mixture of different languages to English? Maybe we're trying too hard to interpret the words and force a logical sentence out of it. Even if it's something choppy like "Falls sun explode time ground" or whatever, maybe it's an acronym or something. Uhh. I don't know.

 

Real quick again before I sleep, I remembered that someone said that ontplof in dutch more had the meaning of "I explode," which is the name of a song as the first hit on google. So far I've found a book title and a song name just from taking them as single scraps in google. Maybe this is what Mike wants?

I remember finding somewhere (might have been lplive for all I remember) that someone was starting a google sheet of al the possible translations. That might help now if we want to google everything or something.

idk man, there has got to be an easier explanation for all of this....i can certainly tell you im not going to try to sit here and pull some e=mc2 stuff with this coding. i think mike is having a lot of fun toying with us all haha
