If they made season seven it would be about saving a worm which holds the DNA of over 1,000 species....
Well that's one way to see it.. You can also say that fifth season was about fate and free will and the sixth is about saving the world from evil
lol. I love Jimmy Kimmels Micheal Emerson and Jorge Garcia's enthusiasm for lost. Did you know that hurley had a weekly podcast? I don't know if i ever mentioned it here, he gives a three part postcast, script review, listener emails, and post show discussion with his gf beth, and sometimes specail guests.. the last one featured the actor who played Desmond. here's a link so you can listen to past podcasts, they're freaking hilarious too! http://geronimojacksbeard.blogspot.com/ and his blog http://dispatchesfromtheisland.blog...d-max=2010-04-09T18:23:00-07:00&max-results=7
And did you guys see Jimmy Fallon's "Late"? It's a great parody http://www.latenightwithjimmyfallon.com/blogs/late/
Wow, don't really know what to say or think. It was definitely epic. I'll write more when I've had chance to think about it.
Finale just finished where I am at. Spoiler tags just in case. Ok my opinion: It was super nostalgic. I was psyched that they brought back Shannon in order to give Sayid a happy ending. All the little flash backs were really making me sad/happy at the same time. I think that nostalgic feel was really a great and possibly the only way to say goodbye to the show. I really wish they would have brought some people back though for it. I can understand Eko because he quit the show, but Michael was in this season earlier, Ana Lucia was in last weeks, Walt was in a season ago, etc. I think they should have gotten anyone from the original plan crew on there. But oh well. As far as mysteries explained... not so much. Obviously there are still millions of questions. I am actually ok with most of the big ones. I don't need to know MIB's name. I don't need to know the magic behind the numbers or the islands powers. I don't need to know more about the mother figure. I'm more interested in the small things. I thought they said they were going to explain the Hugo bird. I was a huge fan of Walt, so I would honestly like a hand written letter from the writers to explain to me what exactly was so special about him... things like that As far as an overall conclusion to the show, meh. Ok so Jack pretty much let him walk in there which i thought was crazy. Then they fight it out, smoke monster dies, so the "villain" is dead. I'd really like a better explanation as to what would have happened had he done what he wanted... I mean a lot of people died preventing it, so what was it. I'm afraid smokey was right when he said jack died for nothing... I am VERY happy about Jacks ending though. I literally drew that scene out back in season 4 or so. The only way I could see the show ending was Jack's eye closing. The dog showing up though just like in the pilot really set it over the edge and made it perfect. As far as tying in the flash sideways... mehh. I feel like they literally made me watch at least 20 minutes each episode this season of that flash sideways, and in the end, I feel like that entire plot was entirely made up just to create the reunion ending. I feel like they wrote that ending scene with everyone coming together in death, and they were like hmmm how can we lead into this without making it obvious what we were doing. I put so much thought into all of that and for nothing... It didn't feel clever at all. However Jacks death scene makes up for it so I will forgive it. On last note. In the first few scenes of the episode, Smokey says not only is he going to destroy the island, but he is going to sink it. That made me yell at the screen and I got super excited. I thought it turned out that all of the flash sideways were actually the future as result of whatever he was going to do. It made me really excited, and they really would have blew so many minds if it turned out that those were future scenes and not sideways, but oh well. Ok I'll stop now. It was great though to see it sent off with such a nostalgic feel.
My thoughts are this: I feel like the writers lost themselves in all the mysteries and such. In the end, I think they remembered why they were writing. It was always about the characters. I am glad they remembered that.
