Los Angeles, CA (April 1st, 2010) – Two-time Grammy winning rock band LINKIN PARK and legendary Russian recording artist Eduard Khil have today announced the upcoming release of “COLLISION COURSE II: LINKIN PARK VS. EDUARD KHIL,” a groundbreaking new album set for release in Q1 2011.

The idea of the partnership first came about several months ago, when Linkin Park vocalist Mike Shinoda and Chester Bennington, discovered the 75 year old artist via YouTube, immediately contacting Khil to discuss the possibilities of recording a follow-up to Linkin Park's double platinum remix record "Collision Course". The result is diverse, beat-driven record that retains the original spirit of both artists, while providing a homage to Shinoda's distinct Russian roots.

"Working with Eduard Khil was absolutely exceptional," says Linkin Park vocalist, Mike Shinoda. "Eduard brought a unique sound and vocal style to our music that had never experienced on prior records. A large part of my family history is based in Russia [Shinoda is a distant relative of the legendary Russian composer Tchaikovsky] and to explore my family roots, as well as pay homage to the music of generations past was definitely a rewarding experience for everyone involved."

"Collision Course II" features Russian flavored interpretations of some of Linkin Park’s greatest hits, including “New Divide,” “One Step Closer,” “In The End,” “Crawling,” “QWERTY,” “Hands Held High,” “Faint,” and “No More Sorrow.” and is the first time an American recording group has ever made a remix album with a Russian recording artist. Fans can expect to hear some new and added surprises, when the album drops through Khil's record label April Fools Records early next year.

ABOUT EDUARD KHIL
Eduard Anatolyevich Khil, sometimes referred as Edward Hill or Edward Khil, is a Russian baritone singer and a recipient of the People's Artist Award of the RSFSR. In 2009, a 1976 video of Khil singing a vocalised version of the song I Am Glad To Finally Be Home (Я очень рад, ведь я, наконец, возвращаюсь домой in Russian) was uploaded to YouTube, and quickly became an Internet phenomenon known as "Trololololololololololo" or "Trololo", giving Khil the nickname "Mr. Trololo" or "Trololo Man". The song itself was written by Arkady Ostrovsky, and was also performed by Valery Obodzinsky and by Muslim Magomayev on the Little Blue Light program in the Soviet Union. The name "trololo" is an onomatopoeia of the distinctive way Khil vocalises throughout the song.
