Happy Meteora Day!

As you may know, today marks the seven-year anniversary of Linkin Park's second full-length album Meteora which was named after a famous rock formation in Greece. This was the second Linkin Park album to be produced by critically acclaimed producer Don Gilmore (Duran Duran, Good Charlotte, Avril Lavigne) and mixed by the legendary Andy Wallace (Nirvana, Jeff Buckley, Slipknot) and has achieved multi-platinum success in various countries including a shipment of over 4 million records sold in the U.S. alone. Meteora was also the first album in history to produce 3 number one singles on the Billboard Modern Rock charts back in 2003 with Somewhere I Belong, Faint and Numb. The album also gave us the two other pulsating classic Meteora singles Breaking The Habit and Lying From You.

The overwhelmingly successful follow-up to Hybrid Theory took the sound that had made the band one of the biggest alternative rock bands in world to a different plateau with it's heavier riffs, darker themes and experimentation with new instruments and techniques (including the ingenious use of a Shakuhachi flute on Nobody's Listening). It was also the last album before the band's sound was reinvented on the 2007 follow-up Minutes To Midnight however songs such as Numb, Breaking The Habit and Somewhere I Belong would become mainstays in the live Linkin Park shows.

If anything's gonna make everyone feel old as hell it's gonna be the tenth anniversary of HT in October.

 

My gosh, 7 years... it feels like 2 days ago. Actually if i think on Minutes to Midnight 2007 is the same sensation, we're approaching the third year, and it feels like one. Probably the time just started to run faster lately for me lol.
Congrats to the yet brilliant career of this phenomenal band!!!
P.S.My little Meteora box (the blue limited edition one) is completely destroyed from the drag in-out of the cover all the hundreds of times haha. Fortunatly i got a stereo with 5 cd-players then february 2004 so i didn't have to torture it anymore.

 

I bought the blue box Meteora and Legend of Zelda Wind Waker the same day best day EVER!!!!!!!
