Over at the LPUnderground Forums, a user by the name of BNCMajor has posted a link to a Rolling Stone article, which states (when translated) that the new Linkin Park song from 8-Bit Rebellion will be called "Ten Minutes To Midnight".

While this is in no way confirmed by the band (as it could be a mistranslation, and thus should be taken with a grain of salt), if true...the title of the song suggests that the new song is either part of the Minutes To Midnight recording sessions, or a means to closing the book on the MTM chapter of the band's legacy.

We will keep you posted as we get more information becomes available.

Source: Rolling Stone Germany via BNCMajor at the LPU (article is in German)

Rolling Stone is usually pretty reputable, but still I made sure to emphasize like mad that this is a rumor.

If it's the new song title I think it's creative. Also makes me think that by "new" they mean an MTM b-side that we never heard before. Perhaps that one song that's played for 5 seconds at the end of the string recording sessions in the MTM DVD.

Yeah it's definitely not mistranslation, but still, it can be misinformation.

Maybe that's the song that inspired the title for the album?

whatever the title is, i really hope that it will be another MTM b-side. so far they were amazing and the stronger songs from the whole session.

if it's true then maybe it's something they recorded right before they started working on Mintues to Midnight. the ten makes me think that, anyway.

Picture Minutes to Midnight like this -

    1. "Wake"
    2. "Given Up"
    3. "Leave Out All the Rest"
    4. "Bleed It Out"
    5. "Shadow of the Day"
    6. "What I've Done"
    7. "10 Minutes to Midnight"
    8. "No More Sorrow"
    9. "Across the Line"
    10. "No Roads left"
    11. "In Pieces"
    12. "The Little Things Give You Away"

Would have been such a better album if they left out the not so good songs (in my opinion) and stuck in the songs we got as B-sides (with 10MtM living up to the standard of the other MtM B-sides)

Agreed. And a HHH bonus track would have sufficed.

In Between was a great song, but not LP caliber.

I don't know what people see in Across The Line. In Between is much better, heck, it's probably one of their better songs, at least as far as MTM is concerned.

Well, seeing as I liked it better than 3/4ths of the songs on M2M i disagree sir!

    And.

ATL is only a mediocre song. IB > ATL for me.

I'm the same. I actually like In Between more than Across The Line. I've said it before, and sometimes I think people latch onto newly released songs / b-sides more than album tracks, simply because they're fresh and not two years old. I'm glad In Between is on the album and wouldn't change it for anything.

Dark_Ganon' list just proves this, seeing how he has already switched one of the album tracks to Ten Minutes to Midnight without knowing absolutely anything about how it sounds.

As said in my post, i put it on the list based only on that the other B-sides are great. It could turn out great, could be mediocre or awful.

As for not In Between being in - sure can understand you in between lovers out there but for more it don't live up to "my" Linkin Park standard, same with Valentine's Day. Hand held High would have made my cut on the album through, but i just took it with 12 songs (and preys 10MtM sounds bad ass.

    not in my case, sir!

"no roads left" is my second most played song and in the top 5 of my favourite songs ever. everything in it screams "epic" and i can't help but totally love every aspect of the song.

"across the line" has an amazing beat that gets me everytime. i have to try real hard not to whip my foot at least. i like the progression, melody and atmosphere.

even "qwerty" was much better than every other "hard" song on M2M.

if anyone's interested, my top 5 last.fm lp songs: (running since march 2006)

    1. no roads left - 234
    2. qwerty - 111
    3. leave out all the rest - 104
    4. shadow of the day - 79
    5. across the line - 64

oh, what? no "new divide"? no, because though it was new, it sucks and still does.

personally i wouldn't cut "in between". i would prefer to cut "no more sorrow" and "hands held high". NMS is such a weak song, it's unbelieveable.

still everything is debatable, sure, but i don't like it that someone (even though you didn't adress me) puts me in a pot with the casual lp fan who freaks about new songs and calls them invincible and godlike....

oh, and i wouldn't include a song that we didn't even hear yet ;).

I actually thought "No More Sorrow" was one of the strongest tracks on the album. It incorporated a lot of the elements of a traditional LP song, but kept things fresh in the application. "Hands Held High" and "In Between" are the weakest tracks from my POV, and could easily have been swapped with "No Roads Left" and "Across the Line."
