Linkin Park iPod/iPod Touch Game To Be Named "8-Bit Rebellion"

    Yesterday in the exclusive LPU Chat with Mike Shinoda, Mike took the time to reveal some details about the upcoming iPhone/iPod Touch Linkin Park game, including the fact that the secret for completing the game will be a BRAND NEW Linkin Park song!

    "The game takes place in a world that used to be all "low resolution." 8-bit and lower. Then an evil corporation arrived, and they've brainwashed everyone to buy higher resolution. They are called PixxelKorp. A small rebellion has begun, to fight against PixxelKorp. You [the player] may be our only hope to combat the evil!

    As you get through the game, It's laid out like an RPG style game, but it's got a strong social community aspect. You can talk to all your friends playing, and play together. You solve various missions to fight PixxelKorp. If you finish the whole 1st mission, you get something AWESOME. The iPhone game is going to be coming out in January, we believe. The secret at the end of the game is...another new song.     "

    Likewise, Linkin Park's official YouTube has been updated to reflect the style of the game (source of the above character images); and a new domain http://www.linkinpark8bitrebellion.com/ has been parked by Machine Shop Records.

    I can tell who each of them are supposed to be, but I think only Brad's is actually like him.

    But psh, new song!

    I can identify Brad, Phoenix and Rob sprites but, out of the othres, I don't know who's who. :lol:

    You can extract songs from the game without playing it. It's been done. Sooooo we could have the song on launch day.

    And by 'we could' I am of course speaking hypothetically.

    I'm tired of LP keep delaying everything they are working on, they said it was gonna come out before the end of the year.

    ^ Huh? We got LPU 9 just a few weeks back, with a brand new song! They didn't even have to throw in another new track with this game, but they did! Just be grateful!

    You can go to the app store once it comes out and purchase it. You can either do this from iTunes and sync your iPod, or get on your iPod through a wireless network and open the app store to buy it.

    holy shit this is fucking epic, and I can't wait to hear the new song. wish this was released on another game store so I could play it on my Storm :( I don't own a touch and will not switch to get an iPhone, so someone, hurry and get teh song out! lol



    also, yes, I know i'm ahead of myself, but does anyone think there may be 2 new songs? because it says you get something AWESOME at the end of the first mission and then if you beat the entire game, you 'get another new song'..... another as in more than one in this game?

    Mike's wording was definitely interesting. It's hard to say whether he meant 'another' as in 'another after Across The Line' or another as in...the first something awesome is a "new song".

    We'll have to wait and see.
