    Hard rock? Really?

I don't think they should win, just because of how unfitting the category is. The other nominated bands deserve it more, being hard rock (more than Linkin Park anyway; excluding Nickelback obviously). If Nickelback win, I follow Andrea.

I actually think they've got a chance. It's always hard to compete against Metallica, but What I've done was No 1 for 15 weeks or so on the rock charts and Unforgiven III was hardly appreciated by the broader audience. So, go LP :)

Anyone one else find it odd that they nominated a live track when "New Divide" was released in the same time frame?

New Divide would have been good
if any live song had been picked
it should have been Given Up
but whatever. as I said before Metallica will probably win
    Simply because it's Metallica

Not as odd as Metallica being nominated for a song that was never released as a single. Sure, it's probably the best track on Death Magnetic, but it only exists as an album cut. No radio play, no live cut, nothing.

That said, the winner will either be Metallica (because of who they are and the awesomeness of the track) or Linkin Park. Whatever version it is, "What I've Done" was one of the more popular and well received rock songs during this nomination period.

Metallica doesn't win every time they're nominated. They have won exactly half of the time they have been nominated. That being said, they did manage to win a grammy for St. Anger, so quality isn't exactly necessary for a win. I'm personally hoping Alice in Chains wins for Check My Brain, because its the best song on this list and its good to see they're still capable of putting out quality music.

Anything that includes Nickelback should be taken with a grain of salt.
