Question 1: Where are you from?

Question 2: What is it that you think makes the place you live in so special? Post a picture if you would like.

Question 3: Do you think your surrounding environment played a roll in your love for Linkin Park?

    Ill go first:

    1. Im from Michigan.

    2. Its special because the locals here are a lot different from anywhere else. We get massive amounts of snow during the winter and that can make people quite bored. Im closer to Canada then I am Detroit. The summers here are beautiful and there is nothing but back roads, woods, and lakes to keep you busy. Most people dont own pools around here because we can just go to any lake. I love it here!

I live in the middle of the red zone right on the lake: http://www.property-in-us.com/imagesamerica/200px-Map_of_Michigan_highlighting_Marquette_County.jpg

    3. When I first started listening to LP it did. Like I said, not much to do during the winter and at the time they first came out, I had a lot of friends who listen to them. I only have 1 friend left that is just as into them as I am. Yeah, my environment had a lot to do with it.

    1. Maassluis
    2. It's not that special actually  Just a city. We have a coffeeshop though and within 20 minutes I lay on the beach.

    3. Not really. I just happen to like rock music.

    1.) Magnolia, Delaware, USA

2.) It's special because Delaware is the first state. It's also special because Delaware is a small state so you see a lot of the same people each day. The Atlantic Ocean borders Delaware, which is cool because you're not far away from the beaches, which I love. And other states are in close proximity to Delaware, such as, Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey, Virginia, etc. So traveling isn't much of a problem. Plus there is tax free shopping in Delaware!!

(There wasn't any good pictures of Magnolia so I posted a map.)

3.) Nope. A lot of people around here are southerners who listen to country music. I just happen to be an odd ball and not follow the norm.

    1) I'm from Chicago IL
    2) It's special because..well its Chicago lol. The 3rd biggest city in the U.S and food is fantastic here.

    3) No not really because I grew up in a deteriortating neighborhood on the south side of chicago. All my friends growing up listen to hip-hop and rap while I just didn't like my surronding to define my musical taste and another contributing factor was my parents listened to rock.

    1. Las Vegas, Nevada (originally from Columbus, Ohio)

    2. Um, it's the fastest growing city in the U.S. (I think, don't quote me on that), and it's pretty much Mecca for weird shows and junk like that.

    3. No, not really. And living where I lived in Ohio had no impact on my liking of Linkin Park either. It's just that I was trying to distance myself from what I called "childish", and I found LP. That's all, really. If anything, Las Vegas kind of discourages bands like LP.

    a) Tullahoma, Tennessee
    b) Well, two of our neighboring cities are pretty famous. First off, and most importantly, Manchester hosts Bonnaroo every June. It's about a 25 minute drive. And then there's Lynchburg, which is home to the only distillery of Jack Daniels in the entire nation.
    c) Yeah, I think alot of kids around here sit in the corner of the shower in a dark bathroom, and then look into the sink while they're on acid...

    .....No.

    A: Wilkes Barre, PA
B: It's alright, WB in general sucks cause we have gangs and drug problems around here, but 20 minutes away is Scranton where they base the US version of The Office. And in 1972 we had a massive flood that filled most of the valley we live in. OH and Breaking Benjamin is from here. AND parts of Diary of the Dead was based here.

C: I just really managed to find LP because of the radio. heh.

    1. I am from a little town in Northern California called Ukiah. Most people have never heard of it.

    2. I personally think I live in one of the most beautiful places in the world.

Random facts about where I live:

We were originally the home of the People's Temple, which would later move to Jonestown, Guyana.

There's quite a few bands that are somewhat well known that have their roots here: Tiger Army, Love Equals Death, and these guys:

    1) I am from Saugerties, New York. About a 5-10 minute drive from the famous Woodstock, New York.
    2) Saugerties is just a tiny town, full of antique shops and cute stores. I guess that makes it special. It's so quaint. It's also surrounded by tons of beautiful nature. Oh, there's also some lighthouse right in town that I've never been to...haha. Oh, and the Hudson River is right next to us.
There are a bunch of pictures on there

    3. I don't think it was the town so much as my family. I grew up listening to bluegrass music and I eventually kinda went as far away from that as possible. Although, honestly, the small cute town may have helped my parents decide to listen to that kind of music, I dunno. But yeah, I pulled away from bluegrass and went to Linkin Park, haha.

From bluegrass to Linkin Park. Hmmm.... lol. Theres a song you might like if you still like any bluegrass by Matt Costa. - Mrs. Magnolia. If you dont know who Matyt Costa is, hes a Ex Professinal Skateboarder who left skating and pursued music. He works by side Jack Johnson a lot. Ok Im done blabbing. But check out the song if you like it.

P.S. I made this thread to get a sense of where everyone is coming from. I like to know who im talking to. Its interactive. :)

    1. Oriental Negros. Well, technically I'm from a small town called Bacong that is 15-20 minutes drive to a city named Dumaguete City but overall it is part of the whole Oriental Negros.
    2. If you're a person who loves simple life, go to my place :). Peaceful and not polluted unlike Manila plus the Beach! We are also known as the Gentle People. I dont know if it still applies now.

Oriental Negro's is probably the weirdest name ever.

    Same goes for Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch.

Question 1: Where are you from?

I was born in Rennes but I've been living in Lille for twelve years now.
Lille is the fourth city of France with 1.1 inhabitants and has the world's first automatic metro line in the world (it opened in May 1983).

Question 2: What is it that you think makes the place you live in so special? Post a picture if you would like.

It has the advantages of big and small cities (lots of shows, events but the city-centre is never too crowded). It is also very easy to travel to nearby countries (England, Belgium, the Netherland, Germany).
We only need a real stadium (we should have one in 2012).

    A few pictures of Lille : http://www.tripadvisor.fr/LocationPhotos-g187178-Lille_Nord_Pas_de_Calais.html#17372549

Question 3: Do you think your surrounding environment played a roll in your love for Linkin Park?

Not really since they never played here

    1. Hackney, London, England

    2. London as a city is a pretty cool place if you can look past the endless crime, posers, douchebags and pollution. The particular area of London I was born in literally was a ghetto around the time I was born...not all that much better now either. Funny thing is that I'm quite well spoken and don't sound like I'd come from that part of London at all lol

    3. I went to school near a place called Camden Town which is famous for it's rock culture. It's a big hangout for all kinds of rockheads from goths to grungers...I too hung out there when I was growing up (and still do) and I loved the vibe of the place so I guess you could say that area helped get me into rock music in general.
