I hate it when Mike describes songs like this. He's just trying to describe the sound of the music.

All of these guesses you guys are making here are pure speculation. Wait until the album comes out.

I can tell that Mike wants our minds melted into shit by the complete ass raping carnage of the new Linkin Park sound.

Except not; autotuning is horrendously awful. Singers with no skill get to be radio stars because they know how to work a sound editor.

Autotune is the death of music. Now any schmuck with a copy of Pro Tools can sound good and get famous. I love technology and innovations, but there are some things that are just better the old way.

Except when used to artistic effect, like when Cher used it on Believe.

I don't agree with that at all. Even if you had a copy of Pro Tools you'd still have to know a fair bit about music in order to know what the hell it is you're doing exactly. Pro Tools isn't like any other software out there that anyone can pick up and learn to use, it's designed for professional educated musicians and producers thus the name Pro Tools. My opinion is that if you know enough about music to use Pro Tools then a little bit of enhanced performance doesn't do any harm.

Besides it's not like autotune is some miraculous invention that turns no-talent nobodies into world-class muscians. There's a certain degree of instrumental and/or vocal talent and theory that's required in order to get to grips with it.

All this bla bla is killing me... I love music as much as the next person. Linkin Park has proved to me over the years that they are a band I cannot predict at all. Mike did his own thing for a while and now Chester did his. I don't know what else to say Linkin Park its too hard to follow. You know their sound and you know their style...and you know the volcals....but you never really know what the hell they going to do next. Fine with me because it sounds like I am listening to a whole new band all over.

The only people for whom I think autotuning worked were Eiffel 65, and Daft Punk. And I'm not so sure about that first one.

Daft Punk use vocoders, which is a completely different concept.

If your 'No' is in regards to vocoder being completely different than autotune, I still insist, having used both before.

I just hate how people assume auto-tune, vocoder, and talk-boxes are the same thing. They achieve similar effects (not really), but for the latter two you actually NEED musical talent.

Don't wanna turn this into a vocoder vs autotune battle, but I just wanted to say that vocoder sounds a thousand times better than autotune. Just listen to the chorus of Nobody's Listening remix from the We Major mixtape.
