Chester recently spoke with Billboard.com explaining Dead By Sunrise will not be a one time thing. "We'll make records when we can," Bennington -- who started forming Dead By Sunrise, originally as Snow White Tan, in 2005 -- tells Billboard.com. "I don't think people should expect to see an album every couple of years. I'm definitely not going to tell Linkin Park, 'Hey, can you guys take some time off so I can go work on Dead By Sunrise?' That's not gonna happen. But we definitely see this as something we'll continue to do. This isn't a one-time thing for us. Every five years or so I could imagine there'd be a Dead By Sunrise record." He states that he is looking forward to playing live shows in support of "Out of Ashes", due out October 13th. "We really are looking forward to going and playing small venues for a few hundred people," he says, "and really having the people who want to hear us play getting sweaty with us and having speakers right in their faces and blasting them pretty loud." Chester also comments on Linkin Park, saying that the band would like to have their new album out by mid-2010 but "won't put anything out until we can pull a batch of super-stellar songs together." That's kind of cool, that Dead By Sunrise will be an infrequent sort of surprise every 5 years. I like it. These songs had better be super-stellar. I want a fantastic album. Also, I want some Fort Minor.
well, ahem, this truly is fantastic news. "ashes" isnt even out yet and hes already confirmed he's gonna do more - complete contrast to Mike XD If you guys read the full interview Chaz also plans to release acoustic versions of certain DBS songs (+ a cover) and the LP info at the end sounds VERY promising. I dont care if we have to wait another year, but it'll sure be worth it.
This is good news to me. Since Ashes will largely consist of pre-MTM era songs we might not hear the matured Chester (post-MTM) on it. So a sophomore from DBS should be interesting.
Don't get too far ahead of yourself. I love LP but even I'm not sure if they'll be here 20 years from now. They still haven't released a truly classic album. Before you say Hybrid Theory was that album...there's no guarantee that album will still sound fresh 20 years from now (when it's officially 30 years old). So hold your horses. 20 years is a stretch. I'd say maybe 5 years between DBS albums is a better statement to make.
It was a joke, Derek. The 20 years comment was my way of saying that I couldn't care less for another DBS album.
DBS is definitely nothing special to say the least. Chester is capable of more. Atleast 'Walking In Circles' and 'Let Down' won't be a disappointment.
so an LP album in mid 2010? That makes it over 3 year since the release of MtM. I clearly remember chester saying it would be a considerably shorter time between albums from now on. I thought maybe 2 years. As for DBS, an album every 5 years works well. As long as it doesn't adversely affect LP's rep, that is.
