Although we usually reserve the news section for news solely pertaining to Linkin Park and their side projects, we have felt it necessary to pay our respects for DJ Roc Raida, a very talented DJ and member of the X-ecutioners who passed away on Saturday from complications due to an accident he had been involved in only months earlier. For those who are unaware, DJ Roc Raida and the X-ecutioners did a track with Mike Shinoda and Joe Hahn on their 2002 album Built From Scratch called It's Going Down, a crossover track that peaked at number 85 on the Billboard Hot 100, number 13 on the Hot Modern Rock Tracks chart and number 29 on the Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart. The song since it's stint on the charts has since become a sporting events staple, occasionally being played at basketball games and the like due to it's boastful lyrics. (Note: While all members of the band make a cameo at certain spots of this video, only Mike and Joe actually recorded parts on the track.) I saw the words "Rest In Peace DJ..." and I thought Joe Hahn died. God that scared the hell out of me. Still though, this really blows. May he rest in peace. <333
Rest in peace Roc. It must have been an amazing opportunity for them all to work together. May he live on in hearts and memories of everyone. My thoughts go out to him, his family, his friends and his fans.
I keep reading that he was in an MMA accident, not a crash wreck. http://www.vancouversun.com/enterta...ons+stemming+from+accident/2021262/story.html http://mma.msg.com/article/04gF5Tx0St910?q="MMA" Fucked up.
Had to have been one hell of an accident to kill him, since apparently he was big into the sport for years.
