Ah, I was wondering because I know they are playing close to here tomorrow so I thought maybe it would be the same show. I was thinking it would be cool if someone from here were so close to me! :p

Ooohh, well NY is close in the scope of the world I guess, but yeah. I'm driving about 3 hours tonight to see them in Indianapolis, Indiana.

I'm so stoked, I've been watching live videos from previous shows on this tour and I haven't found anything displeasing.

You know who is shit live? Angels And Airwaves.

+44 were the best at performing live of all the blink related bands. There wasn't as much banter, but Mark can actually sing live.

AvA can be good, but it's very rare. And I accept that very easily. I still fucking love AvA though. I am a sucker for big epic songs.

+44's album was underrated as well in my opinion. Most people dismissed it like something comparable to like All Time Low. That wasn't the case. When Your Heart Stops Beating may have not been the best single ever, but songs like Cliffdiving, 155, and Make You Smile were amazing and I loved the whole album.

Personally, I wouldn't say Angels And Airwaves make epic songs, when I think of epic songs my mind wanders towards 30 Seconds To Mars and the like. However I kinda enjoyed their first album however I've barely listened to their second one. Also, the band seems to be made up of promises that Tom just can't seem to keep (how long has their film been coming now?). Also, I saw them live very early on and they were aweful, at the time I was like "YEAH AWESOME!" but looking back I was just like "actually, that wasn't very good at all."

As for +44, their songs were very similar to what I invision everyone wanted from both of the bands that came from blink. It was a safe bet for Mark and Travis to go that way, however it didn't really pay off (assuming you agree with me that, for some reason, Angels And Airwaves were more successful overall). But I agree, there are a few really solid songs on their album, but none that really stuck out and were really really good.

That's just my opinion though. I also kinda think that blink are only in it for the money.

Edit: On a completely unrelated note, I'm annoyed at these people on Facebook and such joining stupid groups that shouldn't exist in the first place. The two I'm aiming this comment at are "Make June 25th Michael Jackson Day" and "Make Buses Free."

My issues with the Michael Jackson Day thing are simple. 1. He doesn't deserve it, 2. Holidays should be reserved for people that DO deserve it, 3. If Elvis didn't have one, why the fuck should MJ

As fo the free buses thing, it appears to me that everyone within these groups has a complete lack of knowledge about the economic system. Companies that run bus services require a certain income to pay tax, pay their drivers and pay for the up keep of their buses (this includes maintenance and fuel). IF it were possible to provide lower fares to people, they would, purely because it would open them up to a wider market. Also, if they were to make it free for children under 16 and OAPs to ride buses (which they kind of do for OAPs already anyway), and then cut prices for under 18s and the unemployed, there's a HUGE chunk of their revenue already. Considering that most people that need to use the bus services are under 18 or old enough for them not to need a car to get to work. And of course the reply from these morons in the group is "well, make the government give them money." Okay, how about they don't do that as doing it would lead to a dramatic increase in tax? Then again, these people won't be paying tax anyway because most of them will be under 18 and won't have a job. "But it'll make the country greener." Yeah? Really? No it won't, so fuck you. Most of the people that want buses to be free already use them anyway, so it wouldn't make one bit of a difference to the amount of traffic if the service was offered at a reduced price.

Epic to me is just like big gladiator style drums, layers of guitar and vocals. Stuff you can sing along to and has momentum. I will say that AvA do have a lot of songs that might sound the same in terms of formula for the song but I really don't mind, because I like that formula. In my opinion, I-Empire is a better album to get into than WDNTW. It has more songs that stick out and do good on their own. (I don't care HOW fuckin' cheesy Everything's Magic is, I love it. The chorus makes me feel so good, the flow of the song makes me feel happy.)

WDNTW is great for flowing though if you listen straight through, but like The War and The Adventure are good singles, along with Distraction and stuff.

I also feel AvA started sort of depressing but I-Empire has more of a "Make life yours, make it the best you can" feeling, and I feel like Love will just expand on that and focus in on Love when you have it at it's best.

I also don't believe Blink is in it for the money, from all the tons of videos I've watched, they have PLENTY of money, Tom has a serious side that he feels the need to express with AvA but he is also still a big kid at heart and loves Blink, that was the legacy of his youth, Tom also does each AvA record at his house, he's giving the album and movie away for free even.

^_^ Kiss Them For Me is one of the best songs ever, imo, and so is their cover of Dear Prudence.

p.s. when it comes to music and books I think you are mini me Mali. =) hehehe

I found Everything's Magic really really catchy.

The reason I say I think blink are in it for the money is the price of some of their merchandise, it's ridiculous, though that could be more to do with their label than themselves I guess.

You reckon Tom's giving away the next album and the movie for free because it's 4 years late?

Ehhhhhhhhh...Well, The whole "Movie" idea actually wasn't "Late" it just turned into something bigger than he expected.

He originally started it as Short films and the documentary that later became Start The Machine DVD, documenting the birth of the band and creation of the first album. He just continued to work with it and turned it into a full fledged MOVIE. It was going to be called I-Empire but it wasn't ready yet, so he's calling it Love to be released with the third album called Love as well. The movie will have songs from all 3 albums I am pretty sure.

I also agree with the merch prices, kinda outrageous. Theres a shirt i am buying that is 40 bucks, because it's long sleeved. Normal tee's are $30.

I was happy with the ticket price for my seat though. I think Projekt Revolution cost me like 70 bucks for worse seats. I paid 65 and really like where I'm at.

I thought it was gonna originally be a full film coming out with WDNTW, then it kept getting delayed so he moved it to coming out with I-Empire. Then they also started working on STM, then the film got delayed again so it didn't come out with I-Empire and now it's coming out with the new album. Ah well, I guess we may get it in Feb anyways so none of that matters now, unless it gets delayed yet again. *shrugs*

I'm assuming the reason Projekt Revolution was more expensive was because there were more bands to be paid for the gig, rather than just 2 support acts *shrugs*
