Gracie Lane I know you remember that one winter day when you had sat on his lap down at the kissing pond in Florassvile Virginia far from the eye of the Autumn sun, in the snow fall of December, two hands hold a memory And on the frozen ice of a lake you had stood bodies linked to hold steady he had said "Warning: To avoid risk of serious injury, stay close to me" Knowing those sappy lines would cause you both to fall Gracie Lane, cry. Don't be ashamed of the tears in your eyes Recall the red robin that had perched on a branch of a tree that had sat behind the water the wish you made and the kiss you gave to the man close to you I know you remember when a storm came he'd go outside and watch the weather though the chilly memories are underneath the moss You can still feel the bitter sting of the vines The grass of your yard is yellow under the velvet lining of reality you wish were a dream and I know this winter day seems less inviting far from the eye of the Autumn sun in the snow of December you remember both a kiss and a sweetness but now all that remains is just a memory... ------------------------------------ Note: As far as I know there is no such thing as "florasvile" Virginia, just something I made up.
awesome write! I could imagine just how everything..was persay. i can feel the emotions practically, and imagine it as if it were real. S'cute poem, yes. Though, it sounds like your jealous of someone
Well, maybe there was a bit of jealousy. But first a little background on the poem. I was writing a story called "A Dying Love" which is really "Journal Entries" with plot. I got an urge to write about about everything. I wonder if I should post that story, it's not finished but I don't think it will ever be. and thanks
very versatile writing. picturesque indeed. pleasant and cold. your words make the reader feel. it's a very brave attempt.
