Very, very good for the first time playing it live in front of a national audience. I liked Mike's big grin in the beginning. He's all like, "Yeaaa this sounds like the shit!"

I saw a post on youtube from the live video that I thought everyone whould hear. During the part right after the bridge and the chours starts back up with "give me reason" and goes on to "the distance in your eyes" well, during that part it sounds like there is a backup volcal of Chester. His voice doubles and after listening to it a few times you can actually hear it. Does LP do that a lot, or was just for that one song that one time? I know when LP plays live they actually play live, so this was kinda weird...

But....That performance none the less was awesome, don't get me wrong!

Probably a Vocoder doing some sort of chorus effect.

I believe they do use certain effects at points, to echo and distort the vocals and stuff like that.

It's more than likely a result of the editing that was done to Chester's vocals for the televised broadcast. The same type of thing can be heard at numerous points on the Road to Revolution DVD, but you never really hear it on any audience videos, or even the DSPs. I think what happens is that sometimes when they apply pitch correction to the vocals, they leave the unedited vocal track in the mix to make the vocals sound stronger as a whole (keep in mind, most of LP's studio vocal tracks are doubled). It just creates the illusion of "2 Chesters singing at once."

Chester does use delay effects on some of his vocals on stage, but they don't sound like that.

I kinda wish they would have sampled the synths and had Mike play guitar instead. Don't know why I just like him on guitar better. To sample a guitar seems kinda lame too

No matter what you say guys, Chaz has a hell of voices!

just watch some Camp Freddy videos with him! full raw power
I dont think that they have time to do some rehearsals with Chester.. and i dont think that they have time to add some effects in his voice.

There isn't a second guitar part for Mike to play in the first place, unless he'd just double Brad.

Didn't they say that on MTM (nearly) no vocals were doubled?

At points they are, but for the most part it doesn't seem to get near the levels to which they used to do it.

On parts of Hybrid Theory and Meteora, they used an insane amount of vocal overdubs, sometimes three or more. Some of the vocals being doubled on M2M is still a step down from that.

There were still quite a bit of doubled vocals on MTM, but a lot of them on the first 2 albums were tripled (a main vocal track in the center and then 2 doubles panned out to the left and right sides). A lot of the softer parts aren't doubled, but they still doubled up on most of the big choruses.
