As per Mike Shinoda on his blog, "New Divide" is only the third record in history to debut in the Top 10 on the American Billboard Hot 100 Chart & Modern Rock Chart simultaneously. The other two songs to achieve this were "What I've Done" and "Speed of Sound" by Coldplay. Congratulations to Linkin Park! Thanks to the_chemist for the news!
Once again, more evidence that Coldplay and LP are the hugest bands in the world by today's standards.
I want Coldplay and Linkin Park to do a mash-up called One Step Closer to Amsterdam. Also: Viva la Forgotten Figure.42 I'll come back with more. Oh, and congratulations to Linkin Park for the achievement.
"Points Of Politik" "Crawling On Violet Hill" "A Papercut To The Head" "The Yellow Things Give You Away" Ah, man ...
"Lovers In Yo Mama" "Speed of Voltage" "Lost! No Roads Left" "Technicolor Technique" "Forgotten Logic" "Shadow of the Scientist" "Breaking the Clocks" with the sequel, "No More Clocks"
At #6 on the charts, it's also Linkin Park's highest-charting debut on the Hot 100 of their entire career (What I've Done debuted at #7). It fell all the way down to #39 in its second week, but I think with the music video and the movie release both coming within the next few weeks, it has a good chance of getting back to the top 10.
Yea i agree as well...It was expected for the song to have a huge drop since there's no music video yet...hurry up guys.
Could someone explain this to me? I don't get the simultaneously part, I'm not dumb so don't think I'm dumb I just don't quite get... :/ However congrats! I bought it and I've played it 400+ times!
